The engine of the truck purred softly as I left behind the Bloodhowl pack house, the echo of Gunthar and his brothers’ words resonating in my mind like a war drum. “Explain, or you won’t leave here walking.” Their faces, filled with hatred and pain, were a mirror of my own guilt.
