With her brows raised, she walked closer to where he stood, her eyes darting around the kitchen.
"You are back Ivy.." He muttered with a bright smile on his lips. Ivy nodded, her eyes still going around, wondering how he got here before her. At least she could remember that they were still at the office when she left, or they had left already?
"I'm making your favorite today.." Ryder bellowed, his succulent lips smiling at her, but Ivy was no longer fazed by it. The moment he picked his ex over her, Ivy mustered up her courage never to get carried away by his charms again.
She nodded and retreated from the kitchen.
A bit of ease settling into her heart, maybe she could still save her marriage. Now that they were alone with no one to intrude, maybe she could talk to him about how his actions were hurting her and he should stop prioritizing his ex over her. She'd take her bath and come back to him. Ivy had a smile on her face as she'd finally have alone time to talk heart to heart with her husband.
However, when she walked further, her forehead creased and her countenance changed as her eyes dropped on Sheila walking down their stairs probably from their matrimonial bed. Her heart beat increased, and a bead of sweat formed at her forehead even though there was AC in the room.
Her knees got weak, she almost crumbled to the floor but she managed to hold herself.
Has it gotten to the stage where Ryder could bring his ex over to their home? Her eyes welled up with tears.
Without a word, she took the stairs and began walking up to her room at a fast pace.
"You're back Ivy, Ryder and I came before you.. Hope you're not too stressed today?" Sheila muttered, but Ivy only nodded, walking faster. She couldn't wait to get to her room and buried her head into her pillow. This was just too much for her.
When she got to her room, Sheila's dress and bra were scattered across her bed. Pain pierced through her chest, and it choked her as she cried her lungs out.
This was it, Ryder had done enough.
Just then, her phone began ringing. When she checked, it was a reminder..
She slowly wiped off her tears to see the contents of the reminder.
She suddenly sat straight as her eyes went through it.
Ryder's grandpa's birthday was next tomorrow. Since she got married to Ryder, she had never missed any of his birthdays and this one, she didn't plan to miss it either.
Grandpa Walton loved her so much and she always loved to be around him as well. He was the kindest soul she had ever met.
She picked Sheila's clothes and kept them aside, away from their bed, her heart heavy.
This time, she was clearly sure Ryder had slept with her and on their matrimonial bed.
Her jaw clenched tightly as she arranged their bed.
