First, she'd go to her husband's office before heading to her own, she must break the news to him today. She couldn't wait to see his happy face.
A few minutes later, Ivy arrived at the company. Her face was glowing with nothing but pure happiness. She hopped into the elevator.
When she got to her floor, she was met with murmurs, but what did that have to do with her? She and her husband just made up and she was still in a pool of joy and love.
Without caring about the gossip and murmurs flying around, she walked steadily to her husband's door.
She adjusted her pony and the feminine collar of her shirt. Then she tilted her lips into a smile. She looked extra beautiful today.
After that, she held on to her husband's door ready to go in.
However, when she pushed the door open, the happiness on her face swiftly disappeared. Her eyes met with her nightmares sitting comfortably on Ryder's office couch.
A lump slowly formed at her throat.
She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
"Hi Ivy.." Sheila muttered, with her hand waving and her signature fake smile plastered on her face.
It irked Ivy to her bone. She wished she'd be gone and leave them alone already, but it seems she was never leaving, and Ryder would never draw the line. He would always welcome her.
"Hello..." Ivy replied, her voice strained, trying to manage the anger fuming inside her heart.
Why had she come back here? But Ryder had said he wouldn't do anything to hurt her anymore? Why did he allow her to come here again? Her heart twitched in her chest. She needed an explanation right now. But this b!tch sat there behaving as though they were cool.
"Ivy.. we are colleagues now, I'm sure Ryder hasn't told you.. right?" Sheila muttered.
Ivy's forehead creased, what was she talking about?
She looked up at Ryder, but he couldn't even make eye contact with her.
She watched in disbelief as Ryder's eyes went round the room except hers.
"Ivy.." He breathed.
Ivy's heart beat faster, waiting for whatever he had to say.
"I.. I.. I'm sorry Ivy.." Ryder muttered, his voice low and his eyes still looking everywhere except Ivy's.
"Sorry? Why? I'm just working here now, how's that offensive? Ow did that offend Ivy?" Sheila muttered, her face soft with her brows raised, but Ivy didn't reply, she was quiet, still finding it hard to believe.
Why was he sorry? Was Sheila telling the truth? Does she work in the company now? This question juggled her mind
"Sheila's business isn't doing well at the moment Ivy.. so she has to work with us for now." Ryder's voice pushed through..
Ivy bit on her lower lip.
Sheila had grown from just coming to the office to now officially working with them. Ryder sure had lost his mind.
With her face twisted in anger, Ivy left his office.
Larisa followed her up as she sighted her.
"I'm truly sorry Viee, I can't believe Mr CEO will do something like this.. we all know you're the one for that position, how can he just give it to someone that had never worked with us in this company?" Larisa complained, her forehead scrunched with anger.
Ivy paused, Ryder had only told her Sheila was now working in the company, but never said the position she claimed. What was going on? What position did he give her? How did everyone know and she had no idea till she got here?
"What's her position?" Ivy inquired, her face serious and her fist tightened.
"You mean you didn't see it? It's in the chatroom, everybody's talking about it." Larisa muttered, just then it came crumbling down her head.
The rumor she ignored this morning.. Neither had she even checked her phone this morning..
"So what's her position!" She questioned, her voice loud and shaky, she hoped in her heart it wasn't what she was thinking.
