SIERRA POV

I thought of different things that I could do to prevent the marriage but all that was coming to my mind was running away but I just knew it was impossible because by now I'm sure someone from the family would have eyes on me already and even if I could escape their eye, my sister will be forced to marry in my stead and I certainly cannot let that happen.

I decided to tell my best friend Mia, to let her know about my situation.

'Hi,your best friend is getting married next week'

I sent a message to Mia.

'What!!!!!!!!!'

She replied back.

I met Mia when I went to college five years ago,it took a lot of persuasion to let my father let me go to college. When he eventually accept, I was beaming with joy until he let me know that it was going to help in my marriage prospect if the family I am marrying into know that their to be daughter in law is educated as many families do not let their female child go to college. But college gave me my best friend Mia,she was my roommate and we clicked instantly and got to know each other more. Unlike me,Mia grew up in a lovely family, even though her family is not one of the five main family in the bratva,they are still significant and her engagement into the Bovanno family made them elite in the bratva, compared to the Luciano family,the Bovanno family is not near them,but to the other three families they are well ahead of them.Mia parents loves each other so much,I really envy my friend,she grew up in a loving home,got engaged to her childhood sweetheart, someone she loves. I love my friend and I am happy for her,but I really wish I was in her shoes. I just wanted to choose who ever I want to marry by myself,so at least I can choose who respects me if not love me.

I felt my phone vibrate on my hand. I checked to see who was calling me and of course it was Mia.

"HI, GETTING MARRIED, REALLY,YOU ARE ACTUALLY

GETTING MARRIED,TO WHO,HOW,WHEN?" She

bombarded me with questions immediately I answered the phone.

"Wow, you have a lot of irons in the fire!" I said to her.

"Hello to you too".

"Sorry,I did not mean to throw questions at you, I was just shocked, I mean I thought your father was

unable to find you a match, how was he able find one so quickly?" Mia asked.

"I know,I also thought he would not have found a family to marry me into the quickly after the Salvatore family's issue" I said to her.

"So,who does he want you to get married to?" She. asked .

"That is where it gets worse" i told her.

"I hope he is not asking you to marry an old man"she said.

"More like telling me,but it's not an old man"I told her.

"Oh,that's great" She said.

"No it's not,I would gladly marry an old man than marry Lucas" I said to her.

"Lucas,you mean Lucas Luciano?" she asked.

"Yes,Lucas Luciano"I said to her.

"Oh my gosh, Lucas,the new don of the bratva,you are the one getting married to him"she said.

"Yes,I am"I confirmed .

"Did you know he was getting married? " I asked her .

""Yes,Leo told me this morning that his best friend Lucas will be getting married next week" She answered me.

Mia is engaged to her childhood sweetheart Leo Bovanno. I totally forgot that Leo and Lucas are often seen together during events.

"Leo and Lucas are friends"she said .

"Ohh,I didn't know they are friends,that must mean you know him, right? Can you tell me what he is like? I need to know exactly what I am getting into" I told her.

"I don't know him more than you do"She said .

"The only time I have met the man was when Leo introduced him to me as good friend, and the man looked scary as hell, he looked like he just wanted to kill someone, literally anyone"she said to me.

"Oh my goodness,what is he going to do with me,I mean,I know my father does not love me but I am still his daughter,why would he force me to marry a monster like him,have you heard about the rumour about his family what them do,how them her,they are going to flare me alive,all I want is just a peaceful life"I dissolved in tears .

"And my father,in a decade or so,he is going to die and all of these he is doing to make sure his legacy continues,he will not even know about it cause,guess what,he will be f*****g dead,and it is my life that is at stake,but guess what again,he does not care,and it is MY LIFE that f*****g on the line,MINEE, and you know what,he even wants me to meet him tomorrow saying it is our engagement,I don't even know the man" I said to her frantically. I was bawling at that point.

"Ok,it's okay baby,I need you to breathe for , alright,we do not want your asthma flaring up,calm down" she said.

"Are you calm?"She asked.

"I am,I am sorry for going all out on you like that"I apologized to her.

"No,it is fine,look,I know that this is all too much at the moment,but you will deal with it,okay? you are a strong girl and you know it,I just want you to see this as a phase in your life right now that will pass. " She said .

"I know what I am about to say is not want you want to hear but I will say it any way,this married will soon be your reality and you will have to come to term with it because we both know that their is nothing you can do about it, you just have to make do with your situation"She said.

"But at least your man to be is hot as hell,you get to see a fine man when you f**k each other "She said jokingly .

"Stop" I laughed "how did we even get here,but thank you for listening to me,I really needed that and for the lecture "I said to her.

"Okay,we will see tomorrow "she said .

"You will come to the engagement party"I asked .

"Yes"she replied.

"I will see you tomorrow then".

I hanged up.
