ALISHA “Btw Alisha, do you know that the guy is in my class? His name is Kyle,” Ket said as she set the table for supper. “Haha, how nice!” I replied sarcastically, sliding into my seat beside her. “But he was not rude. In fact, he made friends,” she added, and I burst out laughing. “You mean the bad boys like Trevor, Ashton, Ryan, and Mia? And then there’s Avalon, the queen,” I said between laughs. Ket tried to put me in my place. “Haha, Alisha, you greatly inspire Jazz. By the way, what’s so funny?” she asked, but I just waved her off. We had supper and then headed to bed. I set my alarm, climbed under the covers, prayed ,I told God I loved Him, and then drifted off. --- “Please don’t touch…” I whimpered, shrinking deeper under the blankets as a dark shape moved toward me. I couldn’t see clearly, but I felt the danger. My chest tightened with fear. He pulled close and pinned me down on the bed ,kissing my every part ,i tried to fight ,i pushed him ,i screamed but no one was coming to my rescue,he tore off my clothes in fact rugs,i cowered in shame and tried to push him off but he was so strong ,he grabbed my hands and locked them together in one of his as he messaged my breasts,i let tears run down my face as this was my first experience of s*x and it had to be like this,i felt him thrust into me and i let out a loud scream... I had never felt so helpless. Tears streamed down my face. This was my first experience—my first memory of s*x—and it had to be like this. --- “Alisha… Alisha, wake up…” a gentle voice called. I opened my eyes and found myself clutching Ket’s arm, shaking. Tears fell freely down my cheeks. I could never forget that night, no matter how hard I tried. I sobbed, and Ket held me tightly. My mom stood in the doorway, tears in her eyes as always. She never tried to stop my crying, she just watched, brokenhearted. “Ket, the memories are still so fresh,” I choked out, pressing against her chest. “I can’t forget. I just can’t…” I wished she could make the pain disappear, but she couldn’t. Still, she rubbed my back until sleep came again. --- Ketlyn’s POV I wished I could take all of this pain away. Seeing my sister like this broke my heart. I laid her gently on her bed and covered her with a blanket. She grabbed my hand, afraid I would leave. I stayed until I was sure she was asleep, then slowly slipped my hand away. Mom watched us with worry in her eyes. She kept urging Alisha to seek therapy, afraid that the trauma was eating away at her mind. But I knew Alisha too well. If she were awake right now, she wouldn’t want to talk about it—and that was exactly what would happen. Since the incident, the nightmares had become frequent. By day, Alisha acted normal, like nothing happened. No one ever brought it up, because it made her angry. That scared Mom even more. Alisha wasn’t letting her pain out, and it was turning her cold. She was changing… but we didn’t know how to help her. I lay down beside her just as Mom switched off the light. I could tell Mom was on the verge of tears, but she didn’t let them fall.
