The letter was simple and rather dull, to my surprise. It did not contain any sort of syrupy excuses or pretend stories. Written in such a somber note, so impersonal, that it genuinely made me doubt the sender. It was indeed signed under my mother’s name, but something else has caught my interest. The word “Pomegranate” used as a PS at the bottom of the letter. Written by hand, in a vaguely familiar handwriting. The sliver of hope that started in the basement now grew, making me slightly more hopeful, while adding coal to the fire of anger that burned brightly within my heart.
