Chapter 64: Delivery room

1283 Words

I have never heard a woman scream with so much pain as Persephone does when we get to the hospital. Her legs are stained with blood, her face is stained with tears and right now, I don't even want to know how the car seat is doing. On our way to the hospital, things got a little out of hand. We had been warned it could happen, we just hoped we'd be lucky enough to avoid such thing. Not only did the baby come a little too early, but the labor was intense and painful. Despite her pain, Persephone remains strong and just as quick witted as always. We call the hospital on our way and as soon as we make it there, an operating room is ready, our doctor is waiting and we have everything we need waiting for us. I'm grateful and at the same terrified when I am invited to assist the c- section.
