Mr. William's father was a land lord with a vast land and a very big house at the out skirt of the city. His land was fertile and cultivable, therefore, he gave it to a rich farmer to cultivate a variety of vegetable and give him some quantity as his share. And the veg.which he received as his share was more than enough for his family.
He however, never bothered to know what was the actual production or output of the land, he was concerned about his share only. Never went to the land and looked into how the things were going on, never bothered to scrutinize any thing. Hence, the farmers were very happy with him.
He had lost his wife when she was only 45 years. Therefore, it was a great challenge for him to bring up his four sons. But he was able
to do it successfully and singlehandedly.
He made his sons capable of taking good care of their individual life comfortably. He provided good education to them and thus enabled them to settle down well.
He loved and trusted his eldest son William very much. After studying law he established himself as a very renowned advocate. When his father became old he advised him to remain united always. He said," Never get divided under any pretext, it will make you very weak. You have a big house, enough for all of you. Stay separately, earn separately, grow individually, but remain united."
His father's advice and grooming made William very practical, and he vowed to follow his advice in his life. After a short illness for only 20 days, the old man died at the age of 79 years.
No doubt William was very distressed after his father's death, but he overcame it soon and assumed full control of the family. He conducted himself in such a way that all his three other brothers obeyed and respected him.
No body even argued, challanged or fought with him. To him every body was equal. He treated his brothers with love and affection. He made himself totally accessible to his brothers anytime.
Soon his reputation as a celebrated advocate spread far and wide. The High Court was located in the city, therefore, as his practice grew up fast, he was feeling inconvenient to operate from his house, which is quite far away from the city.
Therefore, he shifted to the city, rented a house and started living there. He ,however, visited his house whenever he was free, but on Sundays compulsorily. He had a car, hence, visiting his house was not a problem.
Clients started coming from far and wide. He was living in a double storey house. He set up his office on the ground floor which remained always crowded with clients. He, however, started living on the first floor which consisted of three rooms, and one kitchen. This apart, there was also a*****e room where he stocked mainly his old case papers and files.
Soon he emerged as a very respectable person in the entire Colony. When any body met him on the way, he or she bowed the head in respect.
But initially he was facing lots of problems in maintaining himself. From the evening he was busy with his practice and his clients, but again preparing his lunch and dinner threw a big challenge to him. His house remained untidy and every thing appeared disorderly.
Disgusted with these he appointed a young girl just 24 years old to take care of his house. The woman was fair, healthy, tall and very energetic. She was neither beautiful nor pretty but her look was good enough to make a man take a note of her.
All the brothers of William completed their educations and they were now focussing on having their own earnings. Even William was using his sources to find suitable jobs for them.
William knew that the woman he had appointed was living alone, she had also lost her parents and she was .
Once William asked the woman, Soni, who was taking care of him," why do you go home , you have no body, no father, no mother and even you have no brother or sister. Why do not you stay here, you can save your rent and also your transport expenses. There are three/ four rooms, you can occupy any one as per your convenience. Think about it."
Soni really was a very lonely woman. She has lost her mother recently. Even her relatives do not keep any contact with her because she is poor.
Her close friends also who have already got married have no link with her.
She knows that marriage is not possible for her, as she has neither money nor any body to try for her. Most importantly she felt she is a young woman, therefore, it also is not at all safe for her to remain alone.
Therefore, in her house she remains distressed and all sorts of negetivities keep criss- crossing her mind and she remains very disturbed and unhappy.
Soni, therefore, felt it was wise to accept what her master offered her. Accordingly, within a few days she shifted to her master's house and started staying in one room comfortably.
William was hardly 30 years old. At this age he was able to establish himself as one of the leading advocates in the city. Resultantly, his income also soared to a respectable height.Thetefore, he is regarded as a respectable professional in the city.
Soni was taking all care of her master such as cooking, cleaning, washing and managing the house hold. She herself was very clean and also proved to be a good cook. William started believing her so much that when he came to his own house ,he left every thing in her care. And she proved herself trustable. After closing his office, he would come to the upper floor sit on a sofa and call Soni, talk, joke and sometime discuss his problems with her
. He found that she was simple, frank, jolly and also very friendly. But, because of her ill luck she kept every thing hidden within her, remained alone, segregated and introvert.
Gradually, William realized that Soni was by nature extrovert, and very romantic. Within 6 months both William and Soni were drawn close to each other. Soni offered herself completely to her master. She was young, only 24 years old, unmarried, hence, she also needed to fulfill her biological needs.
Both continued their relationship unhindered for a long time and both were fully satisfied and happy.
The care and affection that Soni found from William emboldened her to think that he will ultimately accept her as his wife.
William offered her new dresses and scolded her if she did not appear decent, well dressed and neat. He also purchased expensive cosmetics for her and coaxed her to use it.
He went to the extent of telling her to appoint a man to do any type of manual work like cleaning, washing etc. There by he made her free and she was only cooking and attending to his personal needs.
These changing situations and the increasing acceptance of her role as a complete woman made her bold, and confident of being more and more close and intimate with William.
As she became more and more attached to William, both became naturally very causal in their relationship. Both started having physical relation at night and they started having it regularly. It was both enjoyable and very satisfying for both of them. Her attitude towards William changed from her master to a very intimate partner. She started loving and respecting him, wanted this romance more and more. She was dreaming of a new life, a life of opulence and extreme joy for her which was denied to her till the date.
In order to be more close she encouraged William to be more and more free with her and she became pregnant. William came to his senses, he got a rude shock and pleaded with her to terminate the pregnancy. But she refused and explained that it was his child and how could he do that?
Actually Soni totally misjudged him. The physical relationship did not bring about change in his mind towards her. Through out he considered her to be a simple maid in his house.
Once there was a big argument with regard to the termination of the pregnancy. Her blunt refusal to accept William's advice enraged him. William lost his balance of mind and attacked Soni brutally. She was fatally hurt, then she pleaded with him not to kill his own child.
But William did not care to heed her, and when she was dying she said," You are so cruel to kill your own child, take it from me I will not spare you, I will kill all the children of your family and your brothers' I am cursing you." Then she fell dead.
