#Know your man: there are different types of men, the proud, the arrogant, the player, the businessmen, and even the loyal kind. All this helps you to know how to approach them.
In learning about Logan, Chloe had discovered he hated two things in particular.
Women who want him for his money, title, or influence.
And women in general.
Chloe could see that Logan Martini was not someone she could deal with through her usual plans. Instead, she needed a good idea.
"can you remove the nails?" she tells the manicurist. Chloe leaned backward and lets the manicurist do her job. She had intended to fix her nails, but if she wanted Logan to see her, she needed the look of a pure, innocent girl.
"can you paint my touch nails pink?" Chloe requested. Although she hated pink, it was something that signified cute and innocent.
She searched her phone. Chloe removed the leg that the manicurist was painting when she saw a job opening as an assistant for Logan Ford. Fortune was upon her. Chloe leaned back in her relaxed state and offered her leg for the manicurist to continue painting.
She closed her eyes, even when she heard some new customer had entered the shop.
"I heard that Logan Ford is the first son of Milestone." Chloe looked at the women with a side glance as they gossiped.
"Are the Milestone graded royalty?" the other woman asked.
"The Milestone is money itself, Although rumor has it that Logan Ford is just the illegitimate child."
"So not true," the lady gasps.
Chloe took a look at her nails when the manicurist was done, it was slightly different from what she usually does, but she liked it. She tipped the manicurist.
"it's too much."
Chloe smiled. She was in a happy mood.
"Keep the change."
If Logan was Milestone's son, she intended to seduce him, and if she married him, she wouldn't have to work for the rest of her life.
Chloe had applied for the job before the end of the week. They had scheduled an interview for the following week. She had used her natural brunette hair. The only thing she had changed about herself was the forged document about another Chloe Martini and her glasses. Chloe looked like a nerdy librarian.
She wore a suit and sat patiently waiting for her name. The company itself was a skyscraper. Chloe heard the continuous typing of the computer, the running of the photocopy machine, and the silent gossip on the floor she was in.
There was a water dispenser just in the corridor and the office every interviewee entered, read Vice-president. She arranged the wriggles of her skirt and held her files in her hand.
"Chloe Martini" a lady who stepped out of the office called her. She arranged her skirt again and walked in. She takes a seat and sets her glasses.
"Good day, Miss Chloe," the Vice-president speaks.
"Good day Mr. Elven" she observed the president's unoccupied seat, but she kept a composure face. So they take a look at her.
"What can you do to make things easier for Mr. Ford?"
She took a deep breath before adjusting her glasses again.
"Performing basic office tasks, such as data entry, answering phones, taking messages, sorting mail, maintaining and updating filing, operating office machines, and arranging equipment maintenance and repairs. Also, planning and preparing for office events, such as meetings, conferences, and promotional activities."
"Isn't that the basic job of an Assistant?" she finished.
"I see." the managing director replied.
"I am here to be an Assistant. That is how I can make Mr. Ford's job easier by simply doing my job perfectly well."
They all looked at each other; it was easy to be impressed by Chloe when she commanded everyone's presence.
The Vice-president stood up to give her a handshake.
"My name is Leon" he smiled. She returned his handshake and smile.
"You are hired," Leon said.
"It will be a pleasure to have you in our company." He finished talking.
"The pleasure is all mine." Chloe smiled.
"Ah, the light" Ethan screamed when Logan opened the curtain. Logan had stopped by his best friend's apartment before going to work.
"This place reeks," Logan expressed his disgust.
"Did the demon of hell send you to make my life more miserable?"
Logan kicked the empty can of beers and the boxes of pizza that were on the floor. This was a condo, but Logan thought it looked like a pig's place right now.
"You are already doing that yourself," Logan said.
"Why are you here?" Ethan asked as he got up from the couch, where he had been sleeping for a while.
"Your mother is worried about you."
Ethan and Logan have known each other since college. They had moved in the same circle at high school but got to know each other in the first year of college.
Ethan placed his hand on his head. He had a splitting headache.
"Don't you have work to be, you workaholic?"
"Yes," Logan turned back, his leg hitting a picture frame off the table. He picked it up, and he saw Ethan with a redhead girl. He looked happy, while the girl looked like she had hidden wounds behind her eyes. The eyes never lie; that was something his mother always told him.
"When are you going to forget about her?" Logan waved the picture frame towards Ethan.
"I don't know, I just miss her" Logan took a look at her. She was pretty, just like the woman at the party that caught his fascination. They had almost the same jawline. But the woman at the party had dark blue eyes and blond wavy hair. This woman had ginger hair and olive eyes. She had a thick Irish accent the first and only time he spoke to her.
Like a hurricane, Savannah had come into Ethan's life and left like the calm sea.
"she left you when you had no money. You sent so lavishly on her, and where did that land you?"
Logan had not been present at the start or end of the relationship, but he had picked up the pieces of his friend.
This was one of the many reasons he despised women.
"I know. There was just something different about her."
He was never going to fall like Ethan did.
"I will see you later," Logan said, dropping the frame back on the table.
"And clean this place, or hire someone."
Logan opened the door to his office, and the first thing he saw was a perfectly shaped ass bending down near his chair. He felt an intense spark in the brunette who was picking something at his desk. His office.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" his voice was deep and dark.
She turned, and all he could see was Savannah.
