The Montgomery was the last foster family Chloe ever had. Chloe thought the Montgomery was strange; firstly, the amount of wealth they had was large but yet no children, only maids and a considerable estate. For Chloe, she saw no reason for this family to want a foster child instead of adopting one.
Another thing that Chloe found strange was Veronica Montgomery tolerating her husband's cheating, including sleeping with the maids. What was clear was the maids being fired the next day and Adrian Montgomery not caring about the women he slept with.
The first day Chloe entered the Montgomery house, it looked like a ballroom in the princess stories, and soon everyone in school knew her as the rich foster kid.
"If you behave well, we might adopt you" those were the words Veronica told her so
