Rain had already gotten everyone out of the tunnel before the king and his men got to the camp and when she learnt that three of his men were trapped, she couldn't have been happier. All she had to do was figure out the best way to make use of the situation to her advantage so that the king would have no choice but to surrender. Everything was going well until she realised that her bracelet was missing. The bracelet her parents had given her for her birthday before tragedy struck. It was her most treasured possession. She thought about leaving it behind, but that was the only thing she had left of her parents. She had to go back to the camp to retrieve it. When she suggested going back, Amelia was aghast. It was going to be dangerous to go back when they only just got our unscanthed. The piece was very important to Rain and she had never gone a day without it. She could not afford to lose it now. They could always go back after a few days, when the coast is clear and there was no danger of getting caught by the king, but the problem was, the king might confiscate everything in the camp or, worse, burn everything to the ground. By then, it would be too late. And she wanted the bracelet back, no matter what. And so, both Rain and Amelia began the painful journey back to the abandoned camp. This time, they didn't take the tunnels. Carefully looking around, like a thief at night, they moved fast. When they got closer, they parted ways. Each person will search a different area so that the search could end faster. She could feel something was wrong the moment she got close to the boundaries but couldn't quite tell what it was until it was too late. ********* Winston has just finished setting a barrier that would trap anything that moves. His plan was simple; set the trap, catch whoever walked right into it and interrogate them until he got all the information he needed about the elusive rogue leader. When he was done, he climbed onto one of the trees in the area, and sat on its branch hidden from sight to wait. He took out the charm bracelet he had just picked up on his way here, and carefully studied its delicate intricates. He wondered who it might belong to. If the leader of the thieves wore something like this, then she was definitely materialistic, he thought, but again, if she wasn't so materialistic, she would never have become a thief in the first place. He sat there for a while but nothing happened. He was beginning to get bored and feel drowsy when suddenly Stark perked up, someone or something had just walked into their trap. What are the odds that someone would choose to come in on this side? They both thought cheerfully, he jumped down from the branch noiselessly and came face to face with an angel. She looked like an angel because there were no other words to describe the woman standing before him. The first thought on his mind was holding her in his arms and doing a number of things to her. This was a new and strange feeling towards someone he had just met. What was more, his wolf felt the same way, but Stark had always been a little promiscuous when it came to females. What is this?' He asked, feeling a little trapped. 'Dessert,' Stark replied incredulously, 'No, I mean, what is this feeling? Why do I feel this way?' He snapped at his shameless beast. 'Oh, probably because you are finally seeing things my way.' "Who are you and what are you doing here?" she asked, and Winston thought about the kind of reply to give. "Are you one of the king's soldiers?" She asked coldly, slowly touching the hilt of her dagger that was secured in her waist belt. "No, why?" He replied, walking closer. Technically, he is not the king's soldier, he is the KING. But no need to tell her that, she will find out about that soon enough. "I will be asking the questions here. What are you doing here? Who are you?" "I am just passing by, the name is Trevor by the way," he answered sweetly, switching on all his charm, but she wasn't buying his bullshit, there was something about her that aroused his curiosity. "You are not a rogue. Why are you around here and not in your pack?" she asked, taking up her fighting stance. She had learned never to trust any pack wolves. They are nothing but trouble. Although they were within her campsite, this guy could be affiliated with the kingdom. But she needs to be careful. Any miscalculation could cost her dearly. "No, I am...wait, are you a rogue?" he suddenly asked with exaggerated surprise. But she punched him in the chest none too gently. He was caught off guard, but more importantly, a little fire had been ignited where her hand touched. "Funny you would ask such a stupid question, can't you tell?" she hissed, preparing to land him another blow "Give me a good reason why I should spare your life?" she said, swinging her dagger directly at his throat, any more movement and she could cut him. As a rogue, her scent was both alluring and annoying. Winston has a sensitive nose and can't stand these bad smells, but somehow, for the past few hours, he has been able to endure the awful smell of rotten eggs and spoiled raw meat. "If you are going to kill me, at least tell me why I deserve death," he said in a pathetic voice, and, for a minute, Rain found herself second-guessing herself. Maybe he wasn't part of the king's men, maybe he ran away from home. She thought to herself, but she still could never let her guard down. It was at this time that Winston grabbed her hand and a little fight ensued. She was aiming to cut him but he was able to avoid her feeble blows. The scene looks like a little dance with the girl taking the lead, only, it is a lethal dance because the girl only wanted to injure the man before her and he was trying to avoid getting stabbed. This is the most fun Winston has had in a long time, even spotting a creepy smile to the effect. Now at close range with the girl, all his senses were in overdrive. While avoiding getting stabbed, all he could think of was what it would feel like to kiss her small pouty lips. He realized there was something about the girl that kept pulling him in. 'Uh uh,' Stark muttered, completely smitten. 'What do you mean, uh uh?' Winston could almost hear himself scream. 'Wait, is she... Mate? I think she is our mate.' 'What? Are you asking me? Aren't you supposed to know these things? Tell me, if she is?' 'I don't know, okay? There is something pulling me towards her, but it is not as strong as what we would feel if she were our mate. It's confusing.' 'Are you serious right now?' 'I don't know, okay? I can't reach her wolf.' Stark said dejectedly. 'Is there no other way to find out without her wolf?' 'No, just stay close, we will know in due time.' Winston had never felt his heart beat uncontrollably fast, like it was beating right now. Stark was beside himself. "Don't tell me that is all you have got? You can't even defend yourself against my dagger" she taunted, but Winston couldn't hear a word, he was already bleeding on his left shoulder. All he saw was the movement of her lips, which excited him and he wanted to have a taste so badly that when she swung her dagger at him again, he used his palm to knock it out of her hand and grabbed her waist, crashing his lips on hers roughly before she had time to react. She struggled against him but he held her firmly, slightly biting her lower lips to keep her in place. She was glaring at him but he didn't mind, focusing only on just drinking in her scent as they locked lips. Rain couldn't believe what was happening. She wanted to push the man off but her body was reacting in an entirely different way. "Well, I will be damned" Amelia said, and the two disengaged immediately. Winston had never kissed anyone and felt this way before, it was an exhilarating experience and he was going to continue, but she slapped his hand away and picked up her dagger again, "There is no need to pretend to fight with each other, by any means. Continue with your lips locking, contest, I will wait, that was way more fun to watch, anyway" said Amelia again, but Rain's face was crimson red, she was steaming in anger. What just happened? "Did you find it?" she asked her friend, who only shrugged and started walking off. "By the look of things, I don't think you made any progress either." "I didn't" Rain said in a small voice. "No kidding, you were busy doing other stuff." Amelia said, but Rain ignored her. "So, who are you?" she asked, looking at the guy that had his eyes fixated on Rain the whole time, even though Rain was trying really hard not to lock eyes with him. "Oh, I am Trevor Lawrence. I was just walking around here when your friend attacked me and she wouldn't even tell me her name." Winston said cutely, way too cutely. If it wasn't obvious that he was a grown man, people would misunderstand. "Oh, she is Isabella, and I am Amelia," the other girl said. She seemed to be a little more chatty than Isabel. "Beautiful names," he muttered slowly. "What pack are you from? We kind of know every pack around here, you see." "Oh, I am..." He was going to say the king but decided against it and just decided to play for a little longer. After all, he wanted to find out a thing or two about their notorious leader. "I am from the Rivulet Prairies Pack" he said, but they only looked at him to elaborate, so he continued "I am from an overseas pack," "And you don't happen to know the king, do you?" "No, not at all, no, no, no, who would want to know that guy?" as soon as he said it, Stark had a fit, but both girls visibly relaxed after hearing that, and Stark immediately backtracked and told Winston he had done the right thing. "Why are you here though?" "I don't know, I think I am lost. How about you lovely ladies? Why are you here?" "Oh, no reason," said the other girl. "Rain, let's get going, there is nothing for us here." she said, walking ahead. "It was nice to meet you." When Winston heard the name of the lady that had been eliciting all kinds of reaction from him, he couldn't believe his ears. She was the leader of the thieves? The one he was after? Now things just got complicated.
