Aura continued to hold the handpiece to her ear, shocked her mum had hung up so abruptly. She lowered it, not bothering to put it on the cradle. “How can you tell if someone is possessed? Other than they can’t go onto hallowed ground.”
Riley took the handpiece from her and hung it up, needing to take his arm from around her to do so. “What happened?”
“She hung up on me. Without saying goodbye or anything.”
“That doesn’t mean she’s possessed. They could be ordering her about and telling her what to say and do. I have the feeling she’d be susceptible to demonic suggestions.”
She momentarily closed her eyes, his words not making her feel any better.
