In fact, it was all very quiet as they untied me from the table, then loosed my legs so I might stand while they competently hobbled my ankles with a two foot length of rope. The leash still hung from my collar, but instead of using it to lead me, Cassandra unhooked it and carefully wrapped it up, like a precious thing.
