Chapter Thirteen A Bargain Made Cassandra kept us both busy, if not together then one of us with her, until we were both exhausted. Susanna never left her cell, at least from what I knew. Once I was locked up and bereft of outside noise there wasn’t any clue of what happened beyond the door. The darkness was encompassing and the only thing I had to maintain any physical orientation was my bare body pressed against the walls or floor. Cassandra never left me in there for long, but whenever she dragged me out I could tell that she had been busy; her hair was mussed, or the strap-on harness didn’t sit quite right around her hips, or perhaps she hadn’t recovered her breath.
