Lucas's eyes widened as he froze in place.
No way! Merissa couldn't be pregnant! That was his gut reaction.
But then reality hit him. Given their previous relationship between Merissa and Richard, Merissa's being pregnant with Richard’s baby was possible. And lately, Merissa had been acting weirdly. His rational thoughts started piecing things together.
If it was true, could he handle it?
Lucas thought about all the moments he had shared with Merissa, and all those years waiting for this chance to be with her. His mind was a mess, but his heart was leaning one way.
Then a thought struck him.
What if Richard was lying?! What if Richard was just saying this to make him back off?!
Richard would say anything right now to make him give up. He couldn't back down now!
