As they slowly cleared out the school, everyone started to rally into the gym, happy to see each other and their friends. They started to get loud with excitement. Tiffany walks in and looks around at everyone, the sounds of laughter and a bit of worry fill the gym. Tiffany put two fingers into her mouth and whistled quietly. The silence was loud as everyone started to be quiet. "We aren't safe. There's nothing safe about this place, at every door and window are monsters waiting for us! The only way out is to throw the door on the roof and if we go that way, then we have to stay as silent as possible. Any sound at all will draw attention to where we are and stop us from getting to middle school. There are next to none of the monsters there, so it will be easier to get out that way. If you have a set of keys you need to get them and stuff them in your pocket. Empty your bags too. You never know when you'll find something to take. We need to check all the desks for car keys."
Slowly, people started to leave the gym, going from room to room to check and see if they could find anything useful. Most come up empty-handed. Suddenly, one of the kids walked up to Tiffany reluctantly and looked at her, "Tiffany?" the voice of the young girl came out. "Yes?" she answered with more of a question than anything. "It's me! Mary!" Tiffany looked her up and down and started to remember slowly, it had been years. "Mary, it's good to see you." she looked at her and then Mary's face turned serious. "I had an idea. What if we didn't take the cars? What if we pressed the panic button instead? You were saying something about beasts being sensitive to sound. Wouldn't it make it easier to get out in a pinch?" Tiffany thought for a minute, it was smart she was mad at herself for not thinking of it herself. "It would work, but we should keep it for when we leave the middle school because we will most likely only have one chance at this. I have a plan. Could you get one of the big white boards from the science rooms and some markers?" Mary nodded and ran off in a rush. Mary was smart. Tiffany was glad she ran into her when she did. She was starting to regret leaving Henry to go home.
Everyone started to come back to the gym after doing their checks and working to find resources. Some of the kids went to the cafeteria and pulled everything from the storage closet they could find and some kids even found bus keys. The lunch ladies worked as bus drivers also, which was helpful in the situation they were in. As Mary came in with the white board, everyone became silent again and handed Tiffany a box of markers and an eraser. Tiffany looked around and wrote the plan on the board quickly.
The idea was that a group of ten would go to the middle school and gather the younger kids and pick up more supplies. When they were finished, they would stay in the middle school until morning since it was starting to get dark, then come first thing in the morning they would go to the roof and Tiffany would go to the top of the high school building and set off the first alarm. Shortly after, everyone would press their alarms, and everyone would run to the buses they had keys for, one driver per bus. They would follow the bus. She would drive to Wakefield, back to her land where they would be safe. From there, we would go out and go home to home and find their familys... if they were still there. Everyone seemed to understand and everyone seemed on board with the plan. Now it was time for volunteers for the trip. They need ten for the run and at least five drivers. That was twenty per bus at least.
