Just as I step out, the other ships begin to land nearby; Ezandinius and his group rejoins us just as I move to confront Hadrian, and it’s Ezandinius who moves in to stop us as he shouts, “Wait! What’s going on?”
Hadrian immediately ejects a chain of aura from his right wrist and forms a blue shield at the end of the chain. He tries to step toward me as I raise my fists in preparation for a fight that I know I can’t win. Ezandinius steps in front of him and ejects a trail of tau that runs from his head to Hadrian and causes Hadrian’s aura to expand outward with a rim of reddish-blue light. Hadrian stops in place, takes a deep breath, and stands with his back straight as he smiles proudly to announce, “I feel more powerful than ever. What an amazing feeling.”
