The pilot cuts the helicopter’s engine and jumps out from the cockpit as the vessel sinks downward and comes to rest on the ground as its spinning blades slow to a halt. The crowd from before gathers around me again, and I hear their voices grow louder and louder as they watch the scene unfold in shock. In the background, I hear what sounds like Grandmaster Jia laughing hysterically, and then I hear someone else cursing and raising his voice until what starts as light grumbling turns to enraged screaming. Ezandinius cries, “All right! Okay! Then I’ll just do it my f*****g self! I’ll end him since he wants to keep fighting us!”
As Ezandinius approaches, Kiyoko tries to cut him off as she strides toward me with her spear in hand and says, “I’ll take care of him for you.”
