I helped Blade out of the building and down to where I’d hidden my bike, helping him put a helmet on and then get on the back of the bike. “You ready, Blade?” I felt him nod. “Hold on tight. We’ll be back at HQ in no time.”
The second we were speeding along the main road, I called Edith. “Edge! Oh my god you’re okay.”
“Of course I am, I told you I’ve got this. Look, I’ll be back in five minutes, I have Blade with me. Can you get the pack doctor ready for the second we get back, he’s not in a good way.”
“f**k, on it, Edge, I’m glad you found him, I wasn’t looking forward to telling you he’d disappeared.”
I laughed. “Yeah, I wouldn’t have been happy. I’ll catch you up when I get back, I need a favour.”
