Over the next week, Ren and I were almost completely booked. The Elders with King Lycan were now advancing into Ren’s next stage as Alpha- since he finally had a mate, me. That made Ren more powerful now, I was content that he got that. I was busy getting to know the other She-Wolves of the pack and the children, Emma, Crystal and Jimmy were the smallest of the children. There were a total of ten She-Wolves and thirteen children, some had two.

I was walking in my slippers from the bathroom and gets pulled into the room, making me gasp, “no,” I almost yelled. We undress ourselves and climbs out the window, he shift first into that gorgeous black wolf. His eyes were a deep yellow color, Golden almost. I let Vera take control as I shift, feeling the wind even more against my skin. “Mate,” Sam hummed and nuzzles against Vera’s neck. “Mate,” she whispers back.

She nips at his ear and runs off quickly, making me smile, “he won’t catch up,” I think, “you sure?” Sam was behind us. We felt his breath on me. I jump up and over the pile of logs, picking up my speed, jumping through the fallen logs and over the hills. Vera stops, looking around, “it’s quiet,” she says, “too quiet,” I agree, looking around with her. I sniff the air, nothing, “he’s suppressing his scent,” she whispers.

Before we can blink, he jumps behind us and we tumble down the hill, together, landing on a pile of leaves which made our fall soft. We laugh and I look at him, “how? I was ahead of you?” Vera asks, “baby, you’re playing with an Alpha.” I scoff at Sam’s words.

I try to block my vision, because seeing my wolf mate was a weird experience. We were literally one now though, so nothing could stop our love.

Ren holds my hand as we walk back into the pack house, “Ren!” A girl runs up to him and hugs him, “Amanda!” He smiles and hugs her back, chuckling, she smells like him, “Ava, meet Amanda…my sister. Amanda, meet Ava, my mate,” he says and she sticks her hand out, nice to meet cha,” she says as I shake her hand, “pleasure is mine,” I nod at her, smiling. “So, I ordered pizza and we can have movie night now?” She asks and he nods, “of course,” he nods and I smile as she walks off into the living room and the fresh smell of pizza hit my nose, “want to join?” I smile and shake my head, “I’ll just take a couple slices of pizza, I’m going to use this time to relax after a long week of work,” I smile and leans up to peck his cheek, “maybe after it can be me and you,” I wink and he growls at me, “you’re my temptress, you know that?” He chuckles and walks into the living room. “Whatever,” I hear from the stairs. Matthew was on the phone, “f**k,” he gets up, “oh, Ava. Hi,” he chuckles. It was fake, “what’s wrong?” He shakes his head and looks sad, “it’s funny, I never thought this damned mate bond would be so painful, I can’t even have her in my arms because f*****g Christopher,” he growls, “what? He’s not allowing Raven to come over?” He shakes his head. “I’m sorry,” I frown and he walks passed me, “I need to take a run,” he says. I could tell he was stressing and wanting to cry.

Ren comes in as I’m getting in the tub and slides down the bubbles, the sadness still washed over me, “you okay?” He had a plate in his hand. He hands it to me and crouches next to the tub as I take a bite off the pizza, “mm, I feel so sad for Matthew. It must hurt,” I whisper, “yeah, he mind-linked me, I had to get one of my other guards to calm him down,” he chuckles caressing my cheek, “what did you mean when you said, Christopher can’t have you now?” I ask him suddenly. He chuckles, rubbing his neck, “it’s a complicated story,” I shake my head, “spill,” I frown.

He explains to me from the start. Christopher and him with Matthew used to be best friends. Until their packs became rivals. I frown and ignore him, wrapping the towel around me and walks back to change into clothes, “you didn’t even think to come and find me?” I ask him. He stopped walking and bit his lip, “I wasn’t Alpha at the time,” he says, “you’ve been Alpha for six years now, you let Christopher hold me from happiness this whole time,” I whisper with anger in my words. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to start this story for this,” he says, “I know,” he went to me, “how many did you sleep with during that time?” It wasn’t me asking. It was Vera and I followed her question, allowing it, “what?” He asks backing off, “nothing,” I shake my head, “that’s why that small ordeal at King Lycan’s place happened between you two?” He nodded then, still taken aback by my last question.

The short amount of time I was at the pack house got to me, I was comfortable and felt safe. Everyone loved me as their Luna. Even though I felt sad still, Vera’s question still remained in my head. Did he care that he knew I was his mate? Did he want me? Why does he want me now? I sigh and look down, walking through the hallway. I bump into someone and gasp, “sorry,” it was Ren, “you okay?” He asks me and I nod, “yeah, fine,” I smile at him and walk past him, “Ava, wait-” Matthew interrupted, “King Lycan wants to speak to you,” he tells him, “f**k, okay… Ava. Can we talk? Later?” Ren asks me. I nod and he jogs back to his office with Matthew behind him and he closes the door. “You know… his past shouldn’t bother you much,” Matthew linked to me, “you shouldn’t be nosey,” I cut the link off and block anyone from mind-linking me. Vera, you’re going to have to talk to Sam soon too… I pout. She has been quiet ever since, “I don’t…he couldn’t keep it in his pants and Sam couldn’t control his lust to wait for us,” she was right. But I couldn’t really push it past him if it was the past, even though the story he told me never mentioned that. I already had an idea of the relationship between Ren and Christopher and Matthew, too. He did wait six years… he didn’t do anything to get me even though he knew, that part was what wracked my mind all day.

“Is it okay if I watch the kids for a bit?” I ask the Omega sitter and she nods, “of course, Luna,” she nods and walks away. It was about time, Ren finished with his work and I wasn’t really too keen on talking to him yet. I was preparing myself. I didn’t prepare myself enough as Ren walked in, “we need to talk now,” he says, “I’m watching the kids,” the omega girl came back, not looking at me then, “it’s okay, Luna. It’s almost time for their bed time,” I nod, disappointed.

“You didn’t need to curse at her,” I glare at him, “what? I didn’t do anything. I just asked her to switch back,” he says and stops me, “why have you been ignoring me? You left the bed without saying anything and you even walked the other way as I came out my office,” I bit my lip, “I shouldn’t have told you that story, I’m sorry,” he says after. “It’s okay,” I walk upstairs and he stops me, “I don’t want to argue with you now, we were doing good,” he says, his eyes were sad. “We aren’t arguing,” I shake my head. He comes up to me, “Ava, you’re my mate. The Luna of my pack, I marked you, you marked me. We’re bounded together,” he cups my face, “I don’t want you to push me away,” his lips met mines.
