Mariam's POV
The night already covered the pack house when we ventured into the forest. After exiting through my bedroom window, we jumped the two floors to the ground, and I discovered, in that jump, my Lycan abilities, even while in human form.
“Alright, love, the time has come,” Anthony said when the shadows of the trees enveloped us. “This place is perfect for you to do it, are you ready?”
No, I wasn’t ready, despite the urgency of our situation. I was scared, terrified of the pain I was about to experience. Anthony noticed and gave me the strength to overcome it.
“Actually, it’s not that terrible, don’t let it intimidate you. I know you’ll be able to do it, love. I’m here with you, to give you all the strength you need.”
“Okay,” I said, taking a deep breath, “I’m going to do it.”
