Mariam's POV I took advantage of the moment when Spencer was bringing the lunch trays to catch Melany up on everything. “We didn’t make any promises because I know it’s a waste of time,” I said, finishing my recount of what Anthony and I had discussed after the party, during our meeting in the forest. “This morning proved that. Our rooms are connected by a shared door, and he visited me,” Melany’s eyes widened like the plates we were about to eat our hamburgers off of. “No, no, don’t imagine that happened... because it didn’t. But it was almost as if it had.” Melany’s eyes didn’t shrink back to their normal size. “You won’t be able to resist it, Mary. Sooner or later, you’ll give in to temptation,” my friend declared. I was already aware of the truth in her words, but what could I do?
