Mariam’s POV
The first thing Melany noticed the next day was that I was glowing, and she immediately knew I had reconciled with Anthony. After she insisted several times, I explained what I had done to resolve that thorny issue.
“With men, all it takes is pressing the right button to make them change their mind about anything,” Melany concluded.
“Although, to be honest, the one who was dying to have her ‘button’ pressed was me,” I said shamelessly. “I realized I can’t even imagine him out of my life, and that makes me feel even more vulnerable. What am I going to do if one day, for whatever reason, he leaves me or is no longer there?”
