Axel I could feel it. The blood. The way it burned its way up from my chest and forced its way out through my mouth. I’d been coughing it up for days now, and with each violent hack, I knew, knew that I was running out of time. The antidote stopped working. Asher and Aiden had done everything they could to save me, even after I begged them not to. But there was no more hope left.
