A wave of cold breeze blew at them. Chidi rubbed her hands on her arms as she shook in cold. David furrowed his brows and looked around. Mrs Amanda stood up abruptly and told the teachers to head in. She look resistant but she urged them to get it and she zipped down the tent. She moved to the kids and looked confused as they slowly observed their surrounding. "The Fogs." Chidi said and got up quickly. "I knew they would come." David said getting up as well. "You guys should head in and have your rest." Mrs Amanda advised. "They are more than one." David said ignoring her advise. Chidi turned to him in shock. "How do you know that." "It's my Vetgan gift. I think they are more than five. They feel...ten?" He gasped and turned to Chidi with a hint of fear. "Didn't you hear me. Go inside. Why are you still standing here?" Mrs Amanda asked in worry. Chidi turned to her. "Ma, please go inside. It is dangerous here. You should get some rest. It will he okay by morning." Mrs Amanda looked at them gutsmarked. "You..." Her voice faded as the foggy aura slowly came into view. She got scared for them. These kids just wanted to get killed right? She turned to the aura as it slowly formed into it's form; a white long hoddy. Its face wasn't seen. Ten of them slowly emerged and moved towards them. The trio took their positions and glared at The Fogs. A Fog at the middle came forward. "You don't seem scared." It said with a masculine deep voice. "Should we be?" Mrs Amanda asked with a raise of the brow. "You guys talk?" Chidi asked in shock? "I thought you were dumb gender-less creatures. Wow!" It laughed. "You must be the only child of Simon Chukwueze. I see his boldness in you, little child." "Indeed, then you should know that I can kill you." It laughed again. "Simon tried but couldn't kill all of us. We are smarter than you imagine. Now enough chat and more death." It said and rushed at them. Chidi moved out of that way quickly and kicked it. Surprisingly it was hit. The kick was powerful enough to throw it to the ground. The others launched at them. Mrs Amanda took out a silver knife from her pocket and attacked them. She gave it several stabs which brought out fog as blood. David ducked under one and tripped another. He gave another a flying kick and punched the other. The first Fog grabbed Chidi from the back and threw her to a tree. She hit her back causing a sharp pain down her spin. She groaned and got up slowly. The Fog came at her again and grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up. She stuggled for air and grabbed its hand. She kicked it several times but it didn't bulge. She was loosing air faster than she thought. She suddenly felt a flow of electricity through her body which moved to her mouth. She couldn't hold her scream so she let it out. The ground shook and the trees broke. The Fog that held her was thrown away and burst into dust. She full to the ground so weakly and that caused a quake in the ground. The quake swallowed The Fogs and turned them to dust. Once The Fogs were all destroyed the quake closed up, but the trees were still broken and she was unconscious. *********** The sun ray came over her fair face which made it glow. Her eye lids slowly opened and she tried to observe her surrounding. She slowly sat up and blinked a lot. She looked around again. She was in her tent. Great. She crawled out of the tent and stretched. Her body felt so weak and exhausted. She tried to recall what happened the previous day, but she was too tired to do so. She noticed all eyes that were on her. She paused. Wait, was her hair was messy? She rolled her eyes. Her friends soon sandwiched her and gave her tight hugs. She looked at them confused. "Um...What happened?" She asked confused. Why were they so affectionate? That was new. David's face came before hers. "Do you feel alright? You collapsed last night." Then the memory flooded in like an ocean. That's true she fought The Fogs last night. Wait...she didn't die? That's true. She gasped and checked herself. "What happened?" "So you are telling me I screamed and all The Fogs just vanished? Like? They were sucked into the ground? Is that even possible? Like..." Chidi just had her mouth agape. She and David were at the river. "I can't believe it myself. That's one power I've never seen before. It was...just...damn, I'm speechless." Chidi smiled. "So no one died? That's a first." "It's also a first you woke up without a messy hair. You looked as gorgeous as ever for someone who had a rough night." David gave a cute smile. "So..." She turned to him with a small smile. "I'm looking so gorgeous to you today? You have never told me that." She grinned. He gave a shy smile and looked away. "We should head back. Have a quick bath and meet me later." "Yeah." Chidi smiled and began to undress. "Hey! Not right now!. When I go!" David complained. "Oh!" She mouthed then smiled. "So head off." David laughed shyly and quickly left. Chidi sighed and her smile vanished. She moved towards the water and squatted before it. "I am indeed special." Once she was back, they crew set out for the mountain. It was a long walk and a noisy one, the students all laughed and chatted in pairs. Chidi and her friends also laughed about some past event which David seemed embarrassed of. "Guys, stop, okay? Don't remind me of that." David begged. Chidi laughed. "You were so crazy about her back then! Like you even cried when she didn't text you back immediately. I remember when you came over to my place begging me to help you explain to her that you and I are just friends. Like it was crazy." Lily laughed. "True, she did some charm on you. You even started ignoring us and focusing on her. Dude, was that love or pure madness?" "I think it was madness! He started hanging out with her and those girls who were obviously prostitutes. Like, his mother kept calling me every day to ask where he was cause sometimes he didn't go home. Where was he?" "With Eniola!" The girls chorused laughing. "Guys! Stop na! It's not like we did anything. Look, she and I were just innocent lovers." David tried to defend. "Mm hmm. I believe. Innocent but guilty lover." Nancy commented with a smirk. "Actually, I can admit she bewitched me, but when I realized it, she said she just wanted me to know how much she loved me." David defended. "Even though that is so, she just can't use witchcraft. Who ever uses that is a witch. You can't still defend such girl." Chidi causioned as her smile vanished. "Her end indeed served her right. Such girl shouldn't have existed at all." "You shouldn't say that about the dead." David frowned. Chidi rolled her eyes. "I would reserve my comments for later. Next time I may slap you for defending her." David sighed and looked away. "Okay. I'm sorry." "But how exactly did she die?" Roland asked. "She was killed at a one night stand. It serves her right, though. Such yoind girl already began to destroy her life." Chidi frowned and shook her head. Lily nodded. "May she get what she deserves. A lady like her is an embarrassment to all other ladies." "We are here kids! Look in that direction, you would see the highest mountain. We are going to the top, so be prepared." Mrs Amanda informed. "Can you climb?" David asked Chidi. Chidi took in a deep breath and nodded. "God is my strength."
