“Don’t worry. I’m leaving tomorrow anyway,” Dale said as we headed upstairs. The grin on his face told me exactly where this was going. “Just make sure I actually get some sleep tonight. I’d hate to spend the night listening to suspicious noises through the walls.” I shot him a warning look. He immediately raised both hands in surrender and zipped his lips shut. I shook my head. Even as a joke, I hated discussing anything personal. “The walls are soundproof, right?” he called out when we reached the guest room.
