Charlie
Sitting at my dining table while reading the laptop screen, I scanned my to-do list while chowing down on a bowl of chili, bought from Greenery Organic Grocers on the way home from Shug's. Thanks to her, it seemed like I'd developed a taste for healthy food. It made me feel–I don't know–nurtured. Never knew how good it felt until we hung out.
Filled with optimism over how our breakfast went, I reckoned our new friendship would work. Shug didn't want anything from me, like most women. In fact, I had to force my help on her. Now that I understood her better, I needed to be crafty about offering help because she would reject it if she thought it was done out of pity.
