-Ashlyn's POV-
I woke up this morning to one hundred and fifty emails responding to my ad. I've been avoiding looking at them. It will probably just be more of the same. Perverts looking for s*x, dirty pictures or whatever else their creepy minds can come up with.
When noon rolls around I have a break in my classes so I meet up with Lena at the library. "Hey girl." Lena says, when she sees me.
"Heyyyy." I say, as I flop down in the chair next to her, sighing loudly.
Lena laughs. "Long day?"
"Yes, so long." I say, frowning. "How is your day going?"
She shrugs, smiling. "It's been alright so far."
We sit there in silence for a couple minutes and she looks over at me with a mischievous smile. "So, have you gotten anymore offers?"
I scoff and look over at her. "Too many."
"Any good ones?" She prods, smiling.
I shake my head. "I don't know, I haven't opened any more of them."
"Why not?" She exclaims, looking at me with wide eyes.
"Because they are probably just a bunch of creepers wanting s*x. I am not having s*x with someone for money." I say, making a disgusted face.
Lena laughs. "There might be a legit offer, you just have to check them out."
I hold my phone out to her. "Here, you can check them for me. "
Lena smirks and takes my phone from me. "Okay, I will."
I watch as Lena scrolls through the list of emails, making a whole assortment of different facial expressions. Mostly disgusted faces. She stops scrolling and quirks an eyebrow at the screen looking intrigued. "What about this one?" She asks, flipping the phone towards me.
I take the phone from her, reading the email.
From: Carson Williams
Subject: Offer to your Ad
Come to 1567 West Central Avenue today at three thirty. Do not be late or the offer is off the table.
-Carson Williams
Carson Williams? Where have I heard that name before? "Hey, why does the name Carson Williams sound so familiar?" I ask Lena.
Lena shrugs. "I don't know, let me look it up real quick." She pulls her phone out of her pocket and searches his name. Her eyes go wide and she looks over at me. "Gir, you might want to take him up on whatever his offer is. He is a freaking billionaire!"
"What? No, there's no way." I say, as I snatch her phone out of her hand looking at whatever she is looking at. Williams Rehab and Family Incorporated. Oh my God. That's where I've heard the name. He is huge in the business world. Everyone knows who he is. I click on an article that was just posted last night, skimming through it. "Wow!" I mumle and Lena looks at me confused.
"What is it?" She asks.
"Ummm, he is definitely a billionaire. He doesn't sound like a very nice man though." I say, handing her the phone back.
Lena reads through the article and looks at me. "He can't be that bad. You know how journalists are, they are just looking for the best story."
"Yeah, that's true I guess."
Lena gives me a big smile. "So, are you going to take him up on his offer?"
"I don't even know what the offer is." I say, looking at her in disbelief.
Lena types something into her phone then looks at me. "It could be a job offer, that address is to his business office."
"Why would he offer me a job? He doesn't even know me?"
Lena shrugs. "I don't know, stop being such a party pooper. Just go to the meeting and see what he wants. You won't know what it is unless you meet with him." She smirks. "Plus, he is super hot. So, at least you will have something nice to look at."
I roll my eyes, laughing. "You are ridiculous."
I read the email again. Maybe she is right, I should just go and see what he has to say. He is the only one that made what seems like a legitimate offer. So, I guess it's worth a shot.
"I have to get to my last class." I say, as I stand up.
"Okay girl and after that go to the meeting. I want to hear all about it." She stands up and gives me a hug, making me smile.
"Maybe." I say, as I walk off.
I get to class right in time, which is not like me. During the entire class I just keep thinking about him, Carson Williams the billionaire. What could he possibly want from me?
Class ends a little early and I make up my mind. I am going to at least meet with him. Taking a taxi, I go straight to his office building. Standing outside on the sidewalk, I stare up at the huge building. It has to be at least twenty floors. "Here goes nothing." I whisper to myself before walking inside.
"Hello. How can we help you?" A young girl asks when I walk in.
"Ummm, I am supposed to be meeting Carson Williams. I am a little early though."
"Name?" She asks.
"Oh, umm. My name is Ashlyn Durham." I say, glancing around the lobby.
"Top floor. His assistant will take it from there." She says, giving me a polite smile.
"Thanks."
I make my way to the elevator and press the button for the twenty fourth floor. With each floor that passes I get a little more nervous. The elevator dings and I take a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
"Ashlyn?" A guy probably about my age asks.
I nod my head. "Yes."
"Great. Mr. Williams is waiting for you." He says, leading me to an office on the other side of the floor.
"Mr. Williams, Ashlyn is here." He says, as he holds the door open for me.
I walk in the office and behind the desk is a very handsome man with black hair and dark brown eyes. "Have a seat." He says, voice completely emotionless as he looks me up and down. When I sit in the seat across from him he says. "Thank you for coming."
"Sorry I am so early." I say.
"Don't be." He says, as he continues to stare at me with an unreadable expression.
I look around the office for a second. The walls are completely bare and his desk only has a computer and some files. I clear my throat. "Ummm, may I ask why I am here?" I ask, not really sure what else to say.
