Kyler smiles. “Great. I will be on break in just a couple of minutes. Don’t go anywhere.”
“I won’t.” I say, as I take another shot.
Kyler walks off to help a guy at the other end of the bar, and I look over at Lena. She is smiling at me like she just won the lottery or something. “This is so exciting.” She says in a high pitched excited voice.
I smile. “I think you are more excited than I am.”
Lena shrugs, smiling. “I am just excited for you. If you two hit it off, you could be losing your virginity to one of the sexiest men I have ever seen.”
I shake my head, smirking. “Let’s just hope he isn’t in a relationship, because I am not sleeping with someone else’s boyfriend or husband.”
Lena takes a sip of her coke and smiles at me. “How about this, you ask him if he has a girlfriend or wife and if he says yes, then send him my way.”
I slap her arm and gasp. “Lena! You are terrible. I can not believe you would do something like that.”
Lena laughs. “Got to keep life interesting. Sleeping with a taken man makes things exciting, you never know when his woman is going to show up and try to kick your ass.”
I burst out laughing. “I seriously hope you are joking.”
Lena shrugs. “I guess you will have to wait and see.”
I smile, looking over at Kyler. He is making someone a mixed drink. When he sets the drink down in front of the lady, he looks over at me and winks. He hands someone a beer, then says something to the other bartender before walking out from behind the bar. Kyler walks over to me, smiling.
“Would you still like to dance with me?” Kyler asks, sounding a little nervous. I don’t know why he would be nervous. I’m sure no one has ever said no to him in his entire life.
I nod my head, smiling. “Yes, of course.”
Kyler takes my hand and leads me onto the dance floor. I glance back at Lena who is still smiling like she won the lottery. I feel extremely nervous. This is kind of embarrassing considering my age, but I have never danced with a guy before. Especially not to this kind of music.
Kyler puts his hands on my hips, leaving a small space between us, as he starts swaying back and forth. I awkwardly put my hands on his shoulders, trying to remember the way Lena was dancing earlier. I don’t want to look like a complete i***t in front of Kyler.
Maybe it’s all the alcohol I have had tonight, but after a few minutes of dancing with him I start to feel more comfortable, and everything starts feeling more natural. I even turn around closing the space between us, as I grind against him.
-Carson’s POV-
I make my way to the VIP section of a club I come to every now and then when I have too much stress or just need a break from work. I sit down at my usual table with some CEO’s and owners of other businesses. The waitress brings me a glass of whiskey, and I look out on the dance floor. Most of the people that come here are college students, just looking to dance, drink and most likely find someone to go home with for the night.
I sip my whiskey. Scanning the dance floor, as Jack Porter, one of my business friends talks about whatever big project he has coming up. That’s when I see her. Ashlyn. Ashlyn, my soon to be wife, dancing with a man. Dancing extremely close. She is smiling and laughing at whatever it is he said to her. The longer I watch the two of them dance the more irritated I start to feel.
Is that her boyfriend? If it is, does he know she is going to marry me? Even if it is a fake marriage, she will not be allowed to date anyone else. It is specifically outlined in the contract.
I down the rest of my whiskey and stand up, completely ignoring whatever it is Jack is saying. “Is everything okay?” He asks.
I nod, but I don’t say anything. Instead, I just make my way down the stairs. Going straight to the dance floor. Ashlyn doesn’t see me, or if she does, she doesn’t recognize me. I weave through the crowd, making my way to where Ashlyn and this guy are dancing.
When I get to them Ashlyn is facing the guy she is dancing with, and her arms are wrapped around his neck. It seems like they have gotten even closer, if that is even possible. The guy looks at me for a split second, then returns his attention back to Ashlyn.
I clear my throat, staring directly at him. “I would appreciate it if you would take your hands off of my fiancé.” I say it with my authoritative voice that I use in business meetings.
The guy she is dancing with locks eyes with me. His eyes are wide with surprise, but he doesn’t take his hands off of her hips. Ashlyn spins around, looking at me with wide eyes. “Carson, what are you doing here?” She asks, sounding shocked and irritated.
“Wait, is this your fiancé?” The guy asks, dropping his hands from her hips and taking a step back from her.
“Yes.” I say.
“No. No, I’m not.” She snaps, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Here in just a few days you will be my wife, so I would call that being my fiancé.” I say, smirking.
“I- umm, I need to get back to work. Thanks for the dance.” The guys says, as he walks away.
Ashlyn glares at me. “What is your damn problem?”
“I could ask you the same thing. You are my fiancé, and you are out at a club dancing with a strange guy.” I pause, looking at her
outfit. It is even more revealing than I thought it was from a distance. “While you are wearing that.”
“I am not your f*****g fiancé. You didn’t give me a ring, you didn’t propose, we didn’t date, and we don’t even know each other. All you did was slap a damn contract down in front of me and you told me to sign it. So, stop calling me your fiancé.” She snaps.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, ignoring her outburst.
"None of your damn business." She says, as she turns to walk away.
I grab her wrist, pulling her back towards me. "Ashlyn, talk to me. Don't walk away."
"I don't want to talk. I want to go find someone to dance with. Since you ruined my last dance."
If she wants to dance, we will dance. "Let's dance then."
"You want to dance with me?" She asks, surprised.
"Sure. Let's dance."
I pull her close to me, putting my hands on her hips and she tenses up. "Why are you even here?"
I start to sway, moving her hips a little to try and get her to relax. "I come here to have a couple of drinks and relieve some stress. Why are you here?"
Ashlyn looks up at me and says. "Lena brought me here so I could drink, dance, and have a little fun before I become a married woman."
I nod my head. "By fun, do you mean have s*x with a stranger?"
