I retreat to my office, turning around when I hear Vincent and Axel bickering still, this time louder, and onto a new irrelevant topic that has nothing to do with either one of them. I go to my room instead, knowing no one will bother me there, Ariella is with her grandpa, and Valerie is probably there with her. She always runs to complain to Ariella about everything.
Minutes of solitude turn into hours, and the antique clock starts to sound louder now. I only move when I get a message from Ariella, asking me to pick her and Valerie up from her grandfather’s house.
