The Kiss

“This is your end, Adrian Carter.” Adrian remained calm, unchanged. He smiled faintly. In the next blink, his weapon struck straight through Kerual’s forehead. Within moments, Kerual’s body split cleanly in two and collapsed onto the deck. Seeing this terrifying sight, the remaining members fled. Some even jumped into the sea in panic. Adrian smiled again. He stepped onto the water, steadied himself then gestured guiding the ship back toward his palace. At dawn, sunlight slowly streamed through the palace’s large windows. A soft golden glow spread across the balcony and master bedroom. The air carried the scent of salt. Distant waves murmuring softly. Birds were chirping faintly. The palace remained quiet yet wrapped in mystery. Rose slowly opened her eyes. At first, all she saw was darkness. Then sunlight flooded her vision. Her head spun. She felt her head heavy and aching. Fragments of memory of last night surfaced in her mind. She sat up straighten. The moment she remembered the night before, she broke down sobbing. Then she froze at the sound of a deep voice. “Don’t cry, Rose.” She turned right. Adrian stood there, pulling clothes from the wardrobe. He wore only pants. His upper body was bare. Rose quickly looked away. She tried to stand but collapsed to the floor. She was weak. Adrian came over and sat beside her. “Listen, Rose.” She looked at him. Adrian fell silent. After a moment, Rose spoke. “What should I listen to? Where is my father? What have you done to him?” “I don’t know, Rose.” “Don’t pretend. You’re the one who order around here.” “I don’t know how to pretend.” “I’ll kill you.” “Alright. Do it.” Rose looked around but found nothing. Adrian added calmly, “Want to grab my throat again?” Rose exhaled shakily. She was completely trapped. ‘Is there anything left to do to me? Will I ever be able to go back to my father?’ she thought. Adrian suddenly lifted her into his arms. Rose flinched. Was he going to do it again? He placed her on the bed and said, “No one will hurt you anymore. What happened last night you were responsible too. You forced me, Rose. I’m a very calm man.” He stopped. Was he even human? Rose couldn’t understand. This man had destroyed her everything and saved her. What kind of man was he? “Alright. It was my fault. I’ll forget everything. But will you let me go?” Tears shimmered in her eyes. Adrian placed a hand over the left side of his chest and took a deep breath. “I will.” “When?” Rose nearly jumped in relief. Adrian smiled. “If you give me a kiss, I’ll let you go right now.” Rose froze. What kind of condition was that? If he wanted to kiss her, why all this drama? Adrian gestured, “What’s wrong? Will you kiss me?” Rose sank into thought. She hated him. This monster had ruined her. How could she kiss him willingly? But she also had no choice. She didn’t trust him either. He might not let her go even after the kiss. Still she had to take the risk. After a long pause, Rose nodded. Adrian smiled. He pulled her into his lap. He was holding her with both arms. Sitting like that her legs on either side of Adrian's. It was made her deeply uncomfortable. Adrian whispered, “Start now, Rose.” Her hands trembled. Still, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Adrian did not touch her. At all. He only forced her to touch him. Rose closed her eyes and leaned toward his cheeks. “Not on my cheeks, Rose. On my lips. And I want a deep kiss. I want your tounge play with mine.” Hearing that Rose started to tramble. She didn't know what to do but she didn't have anything elso to do except hearing him. Rose closed her eyes and leaned towards his lips. Seeing her trembling pink lips, Adrian’s breathing quickened but he restrained himself. Rose stopped midway. Tears welled up. “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.” “Then will you let me go?” “No.” Rose lowered her head. “I don’t want it rushed or forced,” Adrian said. “I want an emotional kiss.” Rose nodded slowly. She took a deep breath. Closed her eyes. “Not with your eyes closed,” Adrian said. “Look into my eyes and come forward.” Rose felt like crying. Why was he so cruel? Adrian stared at her silently. Rose steadied herself. The man who had taken everything from her there was nothing left she could withhold. She leaned forward. Slowly, her lips met his. The first kiss was gentle. Then silently, her tongue brushed against his lips. Adrian responded just as softly. Their tongues moving together as a strange new sensation spread between them. “Don’t stop, Rose,” Adrian hissed. “Keep teasing me with your touch.” Rose felt her body betray her. Shame flooded her. How could her body react to the man who had taken her virginity? Time passed. Rose was exhausted. Yet Adrian had still not touched her. Strangely, that unsettled her. Finally, Adrian ended it. “You can go now. No one will stop you.” Rose pulled away. There was disbelief in her voice. “Really?” “Yes. Go.” Without hesitation, Rose ran for the door. In seconds, she was gone. No one stopped her. Adrian only smiled. Because even if Rose left, she would return. Again and again.
