When John reached home his father is waiting for him in the TV lounge. He saw John and asked, “Where were you the whole day? And what a mark on your face? You fought with someone.”
“We will talk about all this later. Let me be fresh first. I am very tired today.” John said to his father and went to his room. He locked the door take off his shirt and take the cigarettes out of his pocket, lighten the cigarette and stand in front of the window. He was looking out while smoking. He then takes a shower changed his clothes and went for dinner. His father was already sitting there. When he sat his father asked him,
“Can we talk about today? Where were you and why did you not pick my call?”
“My mobile was on silent mode, I don’t know when you call me,” John replied while putting rice on his plate.”
“And what about that mark on your face, where were you the whole day?” His father further asked.
“Today, when I went to pick up my friend, he was fighting with someone. I tried to get rid of him but I got punched in the face by another man which caused this mark on my face. The car’s back glass was also broken so we both went to repair the car.” John told his father.
“Fighting like this is not his criteria. He is the son of a famous business tycoon. If someone recognized him while fighting, no one will say that John was fighting everyone says that the son of David (his dad's name) was fighting. I can’t stand anyone pointing a finger at my name. Change your company and understand your criteria.” His father advised him strictly.
“Can you please stop it, dad? I can’t bear that my friend is fighting and I keep watching silently. You are teaching me cowardice and infidelity. You know, dad. You can be a good businessman but you can’t be a good father.” He said to his father angrily and went out of the house. He walked toward the river and stand on the river bridge. He takes cigarettes out of his pocket and lightens the cigarette. Suddenly his mobile rings.
He picked up the call and said, “Yes Roman, what happened?”
“Nothing I just want to ask if your father said anything about today. Is everything alright?” Roman asked him.
“My father wanted me to become Coward and infidelity. He wants me to trade my conscience.” John told him.
“Where are you at this time? I am coming to see you.” Roman asked him.
“On the River Bridge.” He replied.
“I will be there in five minutes. You stay there,” Roman said to him.
“Please bring something to eat, I am hungry, I didn’t eat anything since morning,” John said to him and laugh.
“Ok, I am coming then we both went to eat something from the hotel.”
John cut the call and start puffing his cigarette. After a few minutes, Roman came and said, “This is a beautiful place. I appreciate your choice.”
John turned around to see Roman and said, “I always come here when I am sad. This place changes my mind.”
“Now tell what your dad exactly says you?” asked roman
“He said to me to change my company and not to fight for anyone. In simple, he was teaching me cowardice.” John said.
“Look I don’t know your father’s nature but elders say everything for our betterment. So, be calm and think cold mind.” Roman said to John.
“He wanted me to leave you, now tell what the betterment of mine in leaving you is,” John said and Roman started laughing out loud.
“Let’s go to eat something. I am also hungry.” He pulls John toward him and they both start walking towards the hotel.
When they reached the hotel, Roman told john,” I used to eat from the hotels, almost I tested every hotel taste. The taste of this hotel is different from all.”
“You haven’t tasted my hand yet. If you taste it once you forgot all the hotel’s tastes, I guaranteed.” John told him while smiling. They both order some food, after eating roman paid the bill and they both start walking toward john's house.
“The taste is appreciable,” John said to Roman while lightening the cigarette.
“I told you before the taste of this hotel is the best,” Roman replied while taking a cigarette from John and lightening the cigarette.
They reached John's house and roman said, “You should go to sleep now, I will call you tomorrow morning for waking you up.”
“I will try my best to wake up early as I have to leave the house before my dad wakes up. If you say then I can drop you home by car.” John asked Roman.
“No, you go and sleep I will go on foot. See you tomorrow, bye.” Roman said and start walking toward his house. John went inside his home quietly and went to his bed for sleep.
His mobile rings. He picked up the call. “Get up john you are getting late, your dad is about to wake up before he wakes up you had to leave the house,” Roman said to him.
“Thanks, Roman, you wait for me at the same place and don’t make fun of anyone. Because of your fight, we miss yesterday’s classes.” John replied.
“Ok, I will take care. You come fast I will wait for you.” Roman said
“I will be there in twenty minutes, bye,” John replied. He gets up take shower and become ready for college. He takes his bag and leaves the house silently. He starts his car and drives to pick up roman.
While driving he calls Roman and said, “Hey Roman, I am about to reach, where are you?”
“I just leave the house, coming in two minutes,” Roman replied. When John reached there roman was coming toward him. They both went to college, there was half an hour left in the lecture now so they decided to go to the cafeteria for breakfast. Then they both left for class. They attend all the lectures and left for the house.
John dropped Roman and said, “Ok Roman I am going home, now I had to face my dad as well.”
“Tell me if you went outside of your house. I will come for giving you company.” Roman said to him and start walking toward his house. John also starts driving. When he reached home his father was standing at the door.
He saw John and said, “When did you come last night and when did you go today? I had no idea. Spit out the anger of last night’s. Go in your room and refresh yourself. Today the food of your choice is cooked.”
“You didn't go to the office today?” Are you alright?” John asked his father.
“I am totally fine. I just want to spend time with my son so I didn’t go to the office today.” His father replied.
“Ok let me refresh myself. I see you at the dining table.” John said to his father and went to his room. He takes shower changed his clothes and went to eat lunch. His father was already sitting there. When he saw John he said, “Come john, look all the items are of your choice. I specially told cook to make all this for you. Hurry up taste this.”
They both start eating john said, “All the things are very tasty.”
“But no cook can beat you in taste. The taste of your hand is unanswerable.” His father said to him while laughing. John also launched in reply then his father further said, “We both are invited to a house party from my partner. So get ready in the evening۔ “
“Did you know I don’t like these types of parties? What will I do there?” John replied.
“My partner has a beautiful daughter. She will give you company there. Don’t worry you will enjoy the party.” His father replied. They both finish their meal and go toward the TV Longue.
“Let’s watch a movie together.” His father said to him. He starts a movie and they both start the movie together.
In the middle of the movie, John said to his Father, “You continue watching the movie. I am going to take some snacks.” He went out of the house and lighten the cigarette. Then he walked toward Harry’s shop.
“Hello John, where are you nowadays,” Shopkeeper asked John.
“I told you before, I am joining college. Nowadays, I am busy because of college. By the way, give me some snacks and a pack of cigarettes.” John replied. He take snakes and a cigarette and walked toward his house. They both start watching again.
After the movie, his father said, “Now go and well-dressed yourself for the party. Wear that black suit, in black you, look more handsome.”
“Ok dad, give me half hour.” He replied with a smile. Then he went to his room to take out his dress from his cupboard. He take shower and prepares himself for the party. His mobile rings suddenly.
He pick up the call and said, “Hello roman, how are you?”
“I am fine what about you,” Roman replied.
“Don’t ask Roman, I was with my dad the whole day and now we are going to a house party with his partner. I told dad that I don’t want to go but he insist on me and said his partner’s daughter give me company there.” John replied.
“I think he wants you to marry her. You have to look handsome today.” Roman said while laughing.
“Can you please stop this nonsense I have to go now, dad is waiting for me. See you tomorrow.” John said to him and cut the call. He adjust himself in front of the mirror and then stepped toward his father. His father is waiting for him in the TV Lounge.
He saw John and said, “Looking handsome, can we go now we are already very late.” They both walked toward the car.
His father said, “You sit, I will drive.” And they left for the party. When they reached his dad’s partner is standing in front of the door.
Seeing as he said, “I was waiting for you.” He hugged my dad. Then turned toward john looked for a while then said, “This must be John. He was very handsome.” And hugged John.
“You have kept the beauty of the whole city in your house, David,” he said to john’s father while laughing.
“You also have a piece of the moon hidden in the house, By the way, where is she.” John’s father replied to him and they both laugh out loud.
“She is inside the house. Let’s go inside I will introduce you to her.” He replied. They all went inside the house and john’s dad's partner shouted, “Sophie, look Uncle David and his son arrived, come here, princess.”
A beautiful girl come toward them and dad’s partner said, “Here is she, Sophie, meet Uncle David and his son.” She shake his hand with john’s dad and said while looking at John, “I have met Uncle David before but I am watching John for the first time. Uncle, why do you always keep john hidden? He is more handsome that was the reason!”
Everyone starts laughing out loud suddenly john said, “No, actually I have no interest in meeting someone, I mostly like the company of myself.”
“That attitude becomes yours. What is that? Attitude comes when God gives beauty.” She satire at him. Everyone starts laughing out loud again. They all sit and start talking with each other. Then they did their dinner and start talking again. John leave them and went to the terrace. He takes the cigarette out of his pocket and lights the cigarette. He was puffing while Sophie arrived.
“So that is the reason you like your own company.” She said to him.
John smiled and said, “You are so talkative from the beginning, or today is a special day.” He threw the cigarette at his feet.
“I have been like this from the beginning but at this time I would be more interesting to know about you.” She replied.
“Why are you interesting know about me?” john asked her.
“If we don’t know each other, how can there be friendship?” she asked in reply.
“I don’t like to make friends,” John replied.
“I can understand, the handsome people are mostly arrogant.” She replied.
“Now from which book have you read this?” john asked with a smile.
“I haven’t read it. I am watching today.” She replied. Then john’s father and his uncle Stephen arrived and john’s father said, “Seems you both are friends now.”
“No uncle, he told me that he doesn’t like friendships as much he is handsome the more he is arrogant,” Sophie replied. Everyone laughs out loud.
John’s dad said, “Stephen your daughter is very cute.” Then john interrupt his dad and said, “Dad, can we go now it’s already too late.”
His father replied, “Ok john let’s go.” And turned toward Stephen and say, “Ok Stephen, now we are going we will come again very soon.”
Stephen replied, “Ok David, now we will plan to get together for a whole day.”
They start walking toward their car and Sophie was sneaking a peek toward john. They both left toward their house while Sophie was standing at the door looking toward the way they went from.
