The bell rang and the assembly started.Swasti but was in another world.She was lost in thoughts.She somehow wanted the assembly to finish as fast as possible.The time was running like a totoise for her.She thought as if the time had stopped.After struggling and juggling with her thoughts finally the asembly got over and she went to her class.
There were many new enrolements in the eighth standard.May be thats because of the basic level examination which was the primary level graduation and considered important.Rolling her eyes towards the door she was waiting for him,her new desk partner.She saw someone coming towards her desk.
"Look he is the one"whisperd Suraksha.
Swasti started to breathe heavily.Her heartbeat was racing in marathon speed and her nervousness was immeasurable.
"Are you Swasti"asked a guy,skinny,with black eyes short hair and fair complextion.He was not that handsome what everybody would call,but also not that bad.He was a average looking young lad with little amount of facial hair which were showing his growing puberty.
"Yeah,I am"she answered.
"Hi I am your new desk parnter nad new enrollment in the school"
Before he could say anything Suraksha from side shouted"Hello i am Suraksha and most famous girl in class.Just joking.If any help needed you can just ask me since your desk partner cant speak"laughed Suraksha.
"But just now she answerd my question"questioned the boy.
"You didn't understand what i mean,you will when you start sitting with her.By the way you didn't tell us your name"asked Suraksha
"You didn't let me at first"he laughed.
"So what's stopping you now,tell us your name"
"I am Soodip,my home is on the countryside..My family want me to pas this basic level examination with good grades so they enrolled me here.I am living alone in a rent".
"Then you got a perfect partner Soodip.Swasti is the topper of the class but i doubt she will be able to help you since books are only her friends no others."
"Why do you say that?I will surely help if i know"
"Oh,thats so kind of you.Thank you so much Swasti"
For the first time in her whole life she had promised to help somebody.This only had Swasti on excitment.
"By the way Suraksha why are you alone.Dont you have any desk partner?" asked Soodip.
"I don't know who my desk partner is since he is as new as you are."replied Suraksha.
The moment Suraksha said that, a boy tall, muscular and fair came hurriedly and approached towards the desk of Suraksha.
"Hello,this is Vijay."
"You dont seem to be in our class"
"I knew that somebody would defenitly question.Here comes the first question from my new desk partner.Its just my body complexion else I am of your age".replied Vijay.
"Vijay,this is Soodip,a new guy in the class as you are and next to him is my best friend and the topper of the class Swasti."introduced Suraksha.
They greeted each other.
"Since its the first day of our eighth standard and since both me and Soodip are new why not start it with some sweetness.I got two chocolates.Swasti and Soodip you share one and me and my desk partner will have one.How is the idea?"
"Great and i too love chocolate a lot.Seems like this friendship will go a lot further."joked Suraksha.
Swasti was hesistant to eat the chocolate but after much request from all she ate it.The class bell rang and entered the class teacher miss Sakuntala.
The friendship just got started.The four friends and their journey began.Was this this journey scripted to break the barrier around Swasti?
