CHAPTER 9: Madam Is Auditioning For A Role

Flabbergasted, Mia looked at Missandra, “Who do you think you are?”
Just as Missandra was about to slap Mia to make her recognize who she was exactly, her expression suddenly changed. A slight shyness immediately showed on her beautiful face as she said to Mia, “Anyway, you must come home soon. Mia, I’m ultimately your older sister and I hope you’ll live well.”
Mia stared in confusion at her change in attitude and turned around.
She did not know when Nathan’s distant and silent figure had appeared behind her.
At once, Missandra looked towards this man with starry-eyes infatuation.
Looking towards his perfectly-sculpted face, she squeezed her breast together as hard as she could. Fortunately, she had just gone for some breast treatment and was looking her best at this time.
She had initially thought that Dominic was already perfect; he was immensely rich and handsome. However, in front of this man, he would definitely be ashamed of his inferiority.
It was obvious from his extraordinary aura that he was not just any ordinary man.
Missandra was about to lose her mind from staring at the face that could make any woman shy.
However, Nathan merely glanced at her calmly before fixing his gaze on Mia’s frightened face.
She was as white as a ghost, a far cry from her warm and soft complexion this morning. Her long eyelashes were trembling slightly and her lower lids were tinged with a greenish-blue color. She looked like a puppy that had just been abandoned.
“Are you feeling unwell?” Nathan looked at her with an expressionless face.
Mia shivered. She raised her head with difficulty and said, “No, I’m fine.”
“Come with me.” He did not spare Missandra a further glance. Instead, he walked straight ahead with long strides.
Mia froze momentarily. She looked at Missandra’s contorted face beside her.
From behind him, Nathan’s assistant looked pointedly at her, indicating her to follow after him. Without much of a choice, Mia hurried after him.
She left behind a pale-faced Missandra who stood there and shouted in surprise, “Mia knows him?”
“That’s impossible. Mia is nothing. She can’t even be considered a D-list celebrity.”
“But who exactly is this man? He has a noble air with him.”
Missandra was a connoisseur. She knew that the hand-made Italian suit that the man was wearing was not something that anyone could just buy. That designer brand was extremely expensive; Dominic had wanted to buy it but failed to reserve a suit for the engagement party.
Missandra could not help but feel a little jealous. She glared at Mia’s retreating back with hatred.
Mia followed Nathan towards the exit. “Thanks for your help earlier,” she said.
Nathan did not move his head but glanced at her sideways, “What are you doing here?”
“Oh, there’s a role that i wanted to audition for, so I came to meet the director with the hope that I could get a chance to audition”
Nathan replied her with an “oh” and inspected her azure-green outfit. She looked stunning and eye-catching.
“Okay. Look for me here after you’re done. I’ll take you home.”
Mia nodded. “Okay, but why are you here?”
“This hotel is owned by the Hale family.” He said monotonously.
So that’s why, Mia thought in surprise.
A hotel this big…
Mia said goodbye and left to handle her matters.
Watching her leave, Nathan turned to his side and asked his assistant Leon, “She’s here for an audition?”
Looking in the direction that the madam left, Leon said respectfully, “Yes. Madam is auditioning for a role in a fantasy drama that the Hale family is investing in to promote our hotels. Filming will begin soon and Third young master is the male lead.”
Nathan’s eyes shifted to the door in the direction that Mia had left. He lowered his head and said to leon, “Go out and make some arrangements…”

After Mia went in, she went to a great deal of effort before the director and producer. She then proceeded to walk over to them shamelessly.
“Director John, hello.”
The director’s brow furrowed. “And you are?“
“Oh, I’m Mia Thompson, an actress under Dynamic Pictures, I …”
The director immediately understood what she was here for and said quickly, “Oh. If this is about the audition, look for the assistant. I’m not in charge over such matters.”
Of court, mia knew that every one of director john’s works was insanely famous. Naturally, it was even more difficult to get close to him personally.
But in this line of work, sometimes it was about being thick-skinned.
“I know that, director John. I’m not here to ask for the role. I just wanted to see you and tell you that ever since I graduated from the drama academy, I’ve looked up to you. I know that the dramas you’ve directed have all been critically acclaimed and popular. Their impeccable quality has left people dumbfounded. Everyone knows that once director John helms a project, it will definitely be a blockbuster production with numerous awards, so I came here to see you especially…”
“Okay.” Director John interrupted her expressionlessly. It’s fine. There is no use flattering me. I’ve seen countless actresses like you. If I say no. I mean no.”
“I…”
Mia still wanted to walk closer but the director had turned around and gone inside without sparing her a glance.
Mia could only chase after them, but did not catch up to the director. instead, a producer came out. Upon seeing Mia, he walked over to her with a friendly smile.
“Hey, you must be Mia Thompson.”
Mia was surprised, she quickly flashed her signature smile and said, “Producer Jude, you know me?”
“Yes, I’ve watched your shows. Although you didn’t get many scenes, your acting is remarkable. Why? Do you want a role?”
Mia blushed and said sheepishly, “ I’m just hoping for a chance to audition.”
The producer accessed her and his gaze began to soften,
“Alright, I’ll speak to the director. You can come for an audition a few days from now.”
“Really?” Mia looked at him with a pleasant surprise.
“Of course.” He smiled and looked at her meaningfully. “Work hard.”
Thereafter, mia returned to the luxurious lounge to look for Nathan.
He was seated inside where he was reading the documents in his hands. He looked up to see a hint of smile on her eyebrows.
When she smiled, her eyes crinkled up attractively.
“Why do you seem to be in a good mood?” He asked.
Mia blurted out, “Yes, yes. A famous producer agreed to let me try out for a role in one of his projects. I knew it; as long as I make a move, I will definitely succeed. Indeed, my name has definitely depress in the entertainment circle. The producer even knew my name! My golden days are about to come. Of course, I’m happy. Hahahaha.”
She smiled and hooked are arms around Nathan’s, swinging it happily.
Nathan lowered his head and looked at her errant hand in a speechless manner.
Her pale and white fingers were randomly stroking across his arm in an inviting manner. Mia was still swaying, but when she met his gaze, she suddenly felt that something was wrong and quickly let go.
“Sorry, sorry. I was momentarily dizzy with success and didn’t notice. I won’t do it again.
Nathan glared at her. But he did not feel like his illness was about to flare up. “Let’s go home.”
A swarm of tall and burly bodyguards gathered to clear a path for him. They opened the door for him with their imposing appearances as if he was an emperor on a private visit. Their auras was extraordinary.
Looking at him, Mia felt that he was truly different from the rest. “Nathan, are you some big shot?”
