“What do women really want?” Williams sighed, it's hard to understand why his friends won't stop asking the same question every time they get their heart broken by a woman.
“I literally did everything for her. Everything humanly possible.” Robert whimpered, his voice shaky and eyes teary.
All this for a woman, Williams thought.
“This is where you got it all wrong,” Williams intercepted Robert. “Why give a woman a reason to see she wields so much power over you,” he sighed. “You have to be in control of everything she is, only then can you keep her,” throwing his hands in the air he smacked his teeth together. Why is it hard for these guys to understand?
“You have never been in love, so what would you know?” Henry countered.
“Love is for the weak, if there's such a thing as love.” Williams countered back, a smug look on his face.
They were in Williams's Sitting room. His sitting room was a luxurious space that screamed wealth. The high ceilings and rich wood paneling gave it an elegant feel. Velvet curtains and a grand chandelier casting a warm golden glow added to the room's sophistication. Some plush green sofas and ornate armchairs were arranged around a cozy fireplace. Large windows let in plenty of sunlight, making the room feel warm and inviting, blending modern luxury with old-world elegance.
On the sofa, slumped and defeated, sits Robert, his eyes red and swollen from hours of tears. His usually vibrant, expressive face is now pale. Next to him, perched on the edge of the sofa, is Henry, leaning slightly toward Robert. His deep brown eyes are filled with compassion_ the pain of seeing his friend so broken. And there was Williams on one of the armchairs, disinterested, his legs crossed, he just couldn't understand Robert.
“Over the years, I've been trying to prove a point, I don't get how you both don't see it.” He shook his head. “Can't you see the number of women who want me, they would pay anything to spend their lives with me.”
“We get it, but not everybody has this face card thing,” Henry said, waving two of his fingers across his face.
“Face card?” Williams looked shocked.
“Man, you just hurt my ego, I feel less of myself. There's no face card thing, I simply know what they want, I give them a taste of it, now they want more.”
Williams McCalister, he’s tall, six foot two inches, with a beautiful face, blue eyes, wide shoulders, and long legs__
“Just keep quiet, Williams, we know you can't get every woman out there,” Henry was pissed at this point.
“There we go again,” Throwing his hands in the air_ something he does when frustrated_ Williams sighed. These guys just don't get it. “The last I checked, you both have subjected me to multiple tests and I always win the game. I come home with every single one of those women as my trophy.” He smiled, he loved that he wielded so much power over the women.
“Fine, you win Williams, you always do.” Henry said defeated. “Let this young man heal.”
“What is this man?” Williams asked, looking upset. “You are in support of this grown man whining over some woman?” He hissed.
“I have got a house party to plan. Enough women to go round,” He winked, turned left, and headed for the door.
Williams, a corporate heir, was so brilliant, ambitious, and well-spoken. Having been groomed from a young age, he possessed a strong work ethic, a sharp mind for business, and the ability to make strategic decisions. Williams was good at what he did and as one who would inherit ADMIRAL ENTERPRISE, a multi-billion enterprise in the future, the fate of the enterprise was in good hands. Just as good as he was in the business world, so was he in his playboy antics. Apart from being a corporate heir who was definitely very rich, Williams was a very handsome heir, the girls loved him and he knew it. Having grown up in a family where there was no love, Williams didn't believe in love either.
As he walked out of the door, he was immediately faced by his assistant. “Good morning, sir.” The assistant greeted him, with a broad smile across her cheeks.
“Good morning, Miriam,” he returned her greeting with an equally bright smile.
“Joshon group sent in a proposal sir, they.…..”
“ Miriam?” He cut her short.
“Sir?”
“Not today, every business-related information, be it deals, proposals, whatever, can wait till Monday.”
“Sir, …..”
“Miriam?” He closed his eyes, and took in a deep breath, with his fingers, he scratched his left eyebrow as if to illustrate that she was giving him a headache, and he let out a huge sigh. He opened his eyes again, placed his two hands on both her shoulders, and looked her straight in the eyes, “At least allow me this one Saturday. Just this one.”
Miriam sensing his irritation nodded. “Yes sir,” she had to before he got pissed.
“Good,” he smiled, freeing her shoulders. “I am planning a house party, I want you to make sure it is a success,” He took long strides down the hallway towards the elevator. “One more thing, make it an open invite for every beautiful woman, irrespective of class or social status. I want them all, beautiful.” He smiled satisfied with himself. Robert will have him to thank later.
On the other side of town, far from the luxury Williams and his friends enjoyed, Kimberly sat on her bed, hands pressed beneath her chin. She is yet to heal. It's been three years now but it still feels like yesterday. She wouldn't heal_she couldn't _ not until she avenged her sister's death. She turned her head to the left, looking at the walls of her room to the pictures of Williams McCalister, her face vengeful, he would die in her hands, she was certain of that.
Her phone beeped from the bedside table, she picked it up and unlocked it. It was a notification on i********:. She tapped on it, to open it. Williams McCalister had dropped a new post_ yes, she was following him and not only on i********: but all social media space_ what other way to trap your enemy than to know their every move?
House party tonight, every beautiful woman out there, you are invited. All you need is your face card and your banging body, one that wouldn't decline.
The post read.
Georgia Garden, 8:00 pm. See you there.
“Hahahaha,” Kimberly let out a loud laugh but her eyes said something different_mischief.
This was her chance, she knew it, and wouldn't miss it for the world. She was beautiful, way too beautiful and her body was ‘fire’. She was confident her face card would never decline. She had this aura about her, No man ever walked past her and did not take a second look at her.
Kimberly was a sweet girl, always had been, and always will be. Who then is this monster staring back at her as she looks into the mirror on the wall? That was the monster he created. She was by now standing in front of her bedside mirror.
“Kim,” her best friend called out from the other side of the room. “I've been watching you, is there a reason for me to freak out?” Lisa was beautiful though not as beautiful as Kimberly but she was indeed beautiful. She sat on a mat on the floor, her legs stretched out in front of her, her sleek blond hair in a French twist.
“You're safe, Lisa.” She gave a gentle smile, reminding herself of the fact that she wasn't alone. She had totally forgotten Lisa was there in her room_ rather, in their room. Lisa looked worried. “There's a party tonight. And we are going” Her eyes danced with excitement_ or was it mischief?
Someone has to pay for the murder three years ago. Kimberly’s eyes blazing with determination. And that someone was definitely Williams.
She gazed at Williams' i********: post again, her mind racing with possibilities. The party tonight was the perfect opportunity to get close to him, to manipulate him, and to make him pay.
“Kim, are you sure you're ready for this? It's been ages since we last went to a party.” Lisa asked, concern laced in her voice.
Kimberly's expression turned icy. “I was born ready, Lisa.” Williams McCalister has no idea what's coming for him.
Her heart filled with malice. You're going down, Williams. And I'm going to make sure you suffer.
The sound of her phone buzzing broke the silence. Kimberly glanced at the screen and her smile grew wider. “It's time to get ready, Lisa.” Williams' party is about to become the most memorable night of his life... for all the wrong reasons." He would hate the night they met and that night was tonight.
