School

728 Words
As soon as Maggie gets to school, she feels like there is something different, but she soon forgets as she meets up with her friends Emily and Amy. The three start catching up and talking about all that is new, as if they hadn’t seen each other the night before.   “OMG!” shouted Amy, “did you hear that there is a whole group of new kids starting today.”  “Oh yes! They all moved here together. Apparently, they bought that huge piece of land right outside of town and they all live together in one house,” proclaimed Emily.   “Just how many are there?” asked Maggie.  “6 new kids at our school is all I know. That doesn’t include the younger ones or any adults,” stated Amy.  “Wow,” was all Maggie could say. In a town this size it is not unusual for news to spread, but as the other two kept talking, she just couldn’t believe what she was hearing.     The school day was broken into 4 classes a day. It made the day go by faster, but also meant that they took a total of 8 classes in a year instead of 6 like most schools.   There were 2 of the new students in Maggie’s first class. They seemed to keep to themselves and not really bother anyone. In her second class, Mrs. Adams had the new students introduce themselves.   Sadie was an 18-year-old girl who loved shopping. That was easy to tell by the way she dressed thought Maggie. Sadie was tall with long legs, and was perfectly fit. Her dark hair was straight and   Amelia was also 18. She said she preferred staying home and binge watching anything over going out. She was a little bit taller than Maggie, with perfectly tanned skin and dark hair that flowed perfectly down her back.  These girls looked like they could be models. What are they doing here? Maggie thought.  Next was lunch. Maggie got that strange feeling again when she walked into the lunch room. It almost felt like someone was watching her. She grabbed her lunch and found her friends.   “Have you seen the new students?” asked Emily.   “Yes! I have had several in classes.” said Amy.   “I have seen a couple, too,” said Maggie.   You could hear chatter all around. The new students seemed to be the topic of discussion. But no matter how much she tried, Maggie could not focus on what was being said. All she could do was think about how something just didn’t feel right.   Maggie’s third class was uneventful. Just the same old same. When her fourth and final class came thing were different. This was science, Maggie’s favorite class. You were assigned partners according to your lab table. There was only one of the new students in this class and he was Maggie’s partner.  His name was Andrew. He was handsome. No more than that, he was gorgeous. His tall frame took up most of the door way when he walked in. His handsome features of his face, broad shoulders, and muscular arms. He had dark hair and brown eyes. She had never seen anyone look like this before.  When he sat next to her, it was like she couldn’t keep her eyes off of him, but he completely ignored her. He wouldn’t look her way, would talk to her, not even a smile.  When the bell rang, signaling the end of the day, Maggie started out to her car. Suddenly she was pulled into an empty classroom. She slammed hard into a brick wall or so she thought.   As she was spun around, she came face to face with the new guy from her class. Looking at his features so close now, she could see all of the details. She even thought she saw his eyes change from brown to the most beautiful shade of blue.   Before she could register what was going on, he spoke, “I know will not understand this, but all you have to do is listen. I, Andrew Green, of the New Moon Pack, reject you Maggie as my mate.”  Then he left without another word.
