At Red Maple Apartments, the guys go to Eddie’s messy room. Dirty clothes litter his floor. Day-old coffee cups line the windowsill. The skunk-smell of coffee lingers in the air. The rest of the apartment is unkempt as well. Josh notices that the grungy filament on the windows. Trying to lighten the mood, Josh jokes, “My mother would have a field day in here.” Eddie’s apartment is smaller than most of the other layouts in the building. Sitting on Eddie’s unmade bed, his legs dangling over the edge, he thinks it is a pleasant diversion from the rest of the place. Fletcher jumps and snuggles up to Josh. Cozy.
