Thea's POV
Later that night, I woke up due to Liam's hand slapping on my face. I groaned pushing him away. I moved slightly and stretched as I peeked at the clock. 5 am already? I thought it was night? I smiled slightly at the view of Liam sprawled on the floor. I picked up our glasses and moved to the kitchen setting the dishes into the washer. I bathed for a while and went on cooking for Liam and ironed his suit and cleaned his house a bit.
I was swaying to my song when a loud blaring sound was heard from the living room. I picked up the phone to see it was already 7 am. Time to wake up the sleeping beauty.
"Liam, wake up. You are going to be late for work." I said and shook his body, jarring him from his deep sleep.
He groaned and stretched. Smiling he pulled me into a hug but it may have hit him that he didn't prepare anything for work. He rushed and picked up his phone and cursed.
"I am so dead.", he exclaimed.
"Just go and get ready fast." I pushed him towards his room and went on to serve his coffee and pancakes.
This reminds me of the time we had sleepovers. I was the light sleeper. I laughed at how normal this routine was for me. Even the arrangement in this apartment was predictable. He did not change a bit, while I? I sighed as I shook my head avoiding all the unnecessary thoughts.
"Hey, thanks for setting up everything for me.", Liam came out freshly dressed and with his boyish grin.
"Come and eat. You got a long day." I patted the empty seat beside me.
"This could be our new routine you know."
I laughed. "I am not planning on leaving you now. Is it ok if I drive you to work and pick you up? I haven't thought about doing anything today. So, yeah."
"Sure. It's not bad with having my own beautiful chauffeur.", he shrugged and stuffed a mouthful of the pancake I made.
I drove him to work and thankfully we were right on time. Just as he stepped down from the car, I caught the glimpse of his boss and Edward walking towards our car. I stayed for a while as I caught the sneer on Edward's face. Chuckling lightly, I rolled down the window and greeted Edward.
"Morning, sunshine.", I laughed.
Liam shook his head. As he dodged greeting Edward and went past him with his boss. Edward came to my side and scanned me.
"Liam is mine, pup.", I said winking at him and left him baffled there while driving away.
I drove aimlessly for a while, looking around for any bookstore that caught my attention. But, all that I saw seemed to fancy or crowded for my liking. As I was going to give up, I came across a small homey book store. Julia Heaven. I whispered to myself as I pulled my handbag and went into the store.
As I pushed the door, a bell jingled. I smiled to myself as the wooden smell and the smell of the old books hit my nose. I inhaled and closed my eyes taking in the nostalgic aura in the store.
"Good morning, young lady." An old but good looking man came to my view. I suppose he was already watching me from earlier. A blush crept up my neck and cheeks.
"Good morning, Sir. I was just going to look around." I said.
"Help yourself. There isn't anything to young people's liking in this old store nowadays but they are golden." He sighed.
"Believe me, sir, this is far beyond to be liked. This is heaven. Just like the name."
He smiled contently at me. Gratitude flashed through his blue eyes. Just like that, I spent hours going through all the books and getting to know Steffane. He was a nice fatherly figure, owner of the store. He has been managing the store since his wife, Julia passed away. He took her name and made her soul keep living in this store.
We had a lot in common and shared stories. Mostly, I heard his stories and bits of advice. We even went to lunch together as I helped him close the store for the lunch break. I guess I found myself a friend. My phone rang as Steffane and I was arranging some books.
"Pumpkin, I am out of work. Where are you?"
"Liam, I am on my way.", I laughed nervously as I heard him sigh at the other end.
"Ok, be fast."
I bid goodbye to Steffane as I promised to drop by again. Just in five minutes, I reached to Liam to see him arguing with Edward. I parked my car and jogged to them.
"Edward, you are infuriating me. Just get out of my way." Liam snapped.
I came to his side and hugged him. "Hey, sorry I am late. Let's go home now, ok? Save this quarrel for some other time, darling."
Edward growled at me. It's good to know that he likes Liam to this extent. I tugged Liam and waved at Edward. He held his gaze dangerously on me. That was crazy, I felt as if Liam wasn't here he would have killed me. I drove away as fast as I could with a silent Liam by my side.
