Spirit 11

The butler went out after we talked at naiwan akong nakatunganga sa loob. I can't believe I called him some names when I don't even know his story. Kaya pala... kaya pala natatakot siya maiwan. When all he had was his parents, he trusted them, he loved them but he abandoned them? Of course he'd expect na iiwan siya but his butler and driver didn't.

Kailani was born as the first prince but was not really a son of the Queen. The King's first love was his childhood friend, Kailani's mother who then became his personal maid. The King, as the only son at that time, was forced to marry another royalty which is the Queen right now. Kahit kailan hindi talaga niya gusto ang Reyna but to save Kailani's mother and her family, he had too. But then, when he was crowned as King, Kailani was born and her mother ran away leaving him alone. The King took care of him but the Queen was angry so he forced the King to abandon Kailani and take care of their son, which is his brother that we saw at the castle.

According to the butler, he didn't really know what exactly happened but when Kailani was kicked out, he was left alone in the streets. He was not able to handle that so he quit his job along with Uncle Jacob and they found Kailani begging for food. They took him in their small house but Kailani was beyond happy. One day, his Aunt, the King's sister came by and wanted to take care of him in their spare mansion at dinala silang dalawa. That was the time when everything changed. He's still a part of the royal family as the Duchess' orphan. It may be good but it was ruining Kailani too. He was sent to school and was bullied by everyone led by his brother. He was even framed in cheating kaya hindi siya nakapasok sa gusto niyang school dati.

He was the only royalty who was sent into public school but still he was happy because he had everything he needed but he never had what he really wanted.

I feel bad for saying a lot of things to him. I even questioned him about his true self, how rude of me. Kaya siguro kaya niyang baguhin ang kung ano mang emotion ang ipapakita niya depende sa kaharap niya dahil sa mga nangyari sa kanya. Because of what happened, I think he learned how to read situations appropriately. I can't believe someone who needed help saved me or did I saved him back then?

I clench my hand as I think about what happened to him and my treatment towards him. I should go and apologize. Lalabas na sana ako sa pinto kaso bigla nalang itong bumukas and I saw Kailani who looked burnt out and tired.

"Where the hell have you been?!!" he exclaimed. "The trainer is chasing me! Our break was supposedly 20 minutes only and I've been looking for you for the past one hour!!!" he shouted. Right, I forgot we're on break.

"S-s**t, I-I'm-" putol kong sabi when I heard footsteps from the hallway. There we saw 3 soldiers with their spirits behind them.

"Cygnus, I'm too tired to run," he whispered

"Why didn't you use your spirit?" I asked

"That guy on the left has an ability to disable summoning of spirits when hit by his poison. I noticed that but I was too late!" reklamo niya.

"Do you trust me?" I asked.

"What? Do I have a choice?!" he answered and I chuckled. He got a point. As if may magagawa pa siya? We're stuck on this together after all.

"Right," I said and summoned vines from my hand as it swarmed into his waist. "Hold on tight," I said. "We're escaping," I added and he smirked.

"Got it," he said and held onto my vines.

The soldiers started attacking us and I ran hurriedly with my vines holding Kailani.

"Use your vines to travel fast," he instructed at pumasok sa isip ko ang Attack on Titan. Maybe I can use my vines as gear. Attack on Titans anime movie had that omni-directional mobility gear so maybe I could use that as an inspiration. Ah my stomach is moving- this is the excitement that I've been longing for. "Cygnus, why the hell are you smiling like that? You're scaring me," he said and I smiled at him.

"Hold tight, Your Highness," I said.

"Do anything but just don't let me die," he said at hinawakan niya ng maigi ang vines ko.

"We're flying," I said and his eyes widened.

"WHAT?!" he exclaimed.

Tumigil ako at hinarap ko ang mga soldiers. They were running towards us while attacking us some magic balls, I guess.

"Tell me what exactly happened," I said and glanced at the window at napangiti ako nang nakita ko na puro puno ang labas. Perfect spot.

"We just need to run away for 2 hours. Dapat hindi tayo mahuli, iyon lang," he answered.

"Surround them!!" the center soldier shouted.

"Adios!" I said and I jumped into the window.

"CYGNUS?! WHAT THE HELL?!" he shouted.

I felt the breeze of the air as we were falling. I glanced at the trees and my vision turned purple. I imagined the gear of the Attack on Titan and my vines started getting thin except for the vines na nakahawak kay Kailani. I extended my arm and pointed at the trees and two of my vines swung there. I used the trees as the lever and forced our bodies to go up bago pa bumitaw ang vines sa mga kahoy. Napatingin ako sa harapan ko habang nasa itaas kami, I never knew that mainland Agartha was so beautiful.

"Now, that's awesome," I said at napatingin kay Kailani. He was looking at my thin vines at agad siyang napatingin sa akin.

"You're a genius," bigla niyang sabi at napatawa ako. This isn't something new to my world before, hindi lang ito makikita sa Attack on Titan pero makikita rin ito sa Spiderman. I bet he doesn't know that.

"Hold on tight," I said and my vines pierced into other trees at dumeritso kami pababa. My eyes widened when we saw a couple of soldiers waiting for us there but if lilipad kami ulit, it would be too late.

"This is it, mahuhuli na talaga tayo ng tuluyan." he said with  a sigh.

"I doubt about that, wala naman siyang sinabi na hindi umattake di ba?" I asked at napatingin siya sa akin. I remembered how Levi and the others avoided the titans while flying, I bet I can do that too. I've always dreamt of doing that someday, I never knew I could do it now.

Right after we landed on land, 3 soldiers attacked us from behind and in front. I pierced my vines on the roots at umilag ako through sliding on the ground and my vines bursted papunta sa mga soldiers mula sa lupa. I pierced another tree and this time, we landed on branches. I pierced more on the others at tuluyan na kaming nakalayo sa kanila. I evaded the thin curly branches by going through them and swinging my body in different directions. I saw houses nearby already, kaya I pierced my vines through its wall at lumipad ulit kami.

Shit, I've been evading branches but I forgot that I was holding Kailani.

I glanced back at Kailani and he was looking at me with some twigs and leaves on his hair and even his shirt has some stains and holes.

"Oops," I said and laughed and we landed on the roof. Binitawan ko na siya at napatingin siya sa akin habang ako ay pinipigilan ko ang tawa ko habang nakatingin sa kanya.

"Did you forgot na may kasama ka?!" reklamo niya while taking off the twigs in his shirt. "Yes, Yes, you're a genius. Ang galing mo pero sana naman," he said and took a large leaf with a caterpillar on it. "NAG-INGAT KA!!" he shouted at napatingin ako sa ibaba. We're on a top of a market house pala and people are watching us. Nakakahiya, we even have our royal badge here.

"W-W-Well," utal-utal kong sabi with a nervous smile at umiwas ng tingin. I heard laughters from people at doon na niya narealize na sumigaw pala siya at wala kami sa harden niya. He looked around and his face turned red already maybe out of embarrassment.

"W-W-W-Why are we here?!" he exclaimed.

"Napunta tayo dito eh, hinabol nga di ba?" I answered with a nervous smile.

"W-W-We could've gone somewhere else!" reklamo niya.

I was about to answer but I heard footsteps behind us. The soldiers are here at papunta ulit sila sa amin.

"Can you use your spirit now?" I asked and he shook his head with a sigh. "Then I guess you have no choice but to bear with me," I added with a smile and activated my vines again at tumalon ako pababa habang dala siya.

"CYGNUS! I SWEAR IN HEAVENS, KAPAG MAULIT ANG GINAWA MO KANINA, HINDI KA NA MAKAKABALIK SA GAMBIER ISLAND!" he threatened and I glanced at him.

"Am I supposed to get scared, Your Highness?" I asked at kumunot ang noo niya. "I'm kidding. Yes, of course it will not happen again," I added with a smile.

"They're close," he said and I glanced back. 4 meters away.

I stopped and faced the soldiers as I extended my hands. The soldiers halted when one of them signalled them to do so.

"That's poisonous, keep away from it," he said and I smiled.

"I see that you are a well-learned soldier," I said to him and his brows raised.

My vines suddenly felt something from Kailani. I glanced at him and his eyes turned gold. He's back in action. 

"It's showtime," I heard him say.

Hindi ako nag dalawang isip na ihagis siya papunta sa direction ng mga soldier. In just a second, three soldiers were down and Kailani's hand had golden flames.

"Shall we go back?" he asked, raising his fist in flames.

"I don't mind," I smiled and my vines surrounded my arm.

Gaya nga ng sabi niya. it's showtime.
