Nina’s POV The moment the doctor walked away again, the hallway felt too small for me to breathe properly. Everything around me suddenly sounded louder. The footsteps. The machines. The distant hospital announcements echoing through the building. And underneath all of it, one terrifying thought kept repeating inside my head. Leo was getting worse. Julian stayed beside me quietly for a few seconds before speaking again, his voice lowered this time. “Nina, listen to me carefully.” I already knew where this conversation was heading. And I hated it. “You’re thinking emotionally right now,” he continued calmly. “But this situation is changing fast.” I folded my arms tightly across myself as if that could somehow stop the panic building inside my chest. “You think I don’t know that?
