Nina's POV
The drive home felt longer than usual.
Michael Turner's words had followed me out of his office and stayed with me for the rest of the day, refusing to leave my mind no matter how hard I tried to focus on something else. Until now, every discovery had led me to believe that my father had simply become caught in a dangerous situation he did not fully understand. What Michael had revealed changed that completely. My father had not stumbled across the investigation by accident. According to Daniel Hayes' former editor, he had been the reason the investigation started in the first place.
