Upon our arrival at the university, Professor Jameson, the dean, warmly greeted me.

With a friendly smile, he extended his hand for a handshake and said, “Welcome to our university, Mr. Graves!”

Continuing, he expressed his hope that my journey here was smooth and conveyed his excitement about having me as a member of our academic community. He gestured towards a comfortable seat in front of his desk, inviting me to take a seat.

Professor Jameson took me on a brief tour of the campus, acquainting me with the directors, trustees, and other important staff members. As we continued our tour, we encountered several faculty members, each specializing in different fields.

“I regret to inform you, Professor Jameson, that my mother couldn’t attend the program due to unforeseen circumstances,” I apologized, expressing my disappointment at her absence.

Understanding my situation, Professor Jameson nodded empathically and suggested we continue our conversation in his office for further discussion.
