The next morning, I woke up before Onna, so I decided to go ahead and order some breakfast. I checked my phone but there was no message from Ryan yet. Taking a quick shower, by this time I was out and dressed, Onna was up and the food was in the room.
"Good morning Onna!"
Onna turned around but she didn't have her usual smile. There was a bit of pain behind her eyes. Walking over, I took a seat on the bed and put my arm around her.
" What's the matter, Onna? You look sad."
Onna looked up at me with tears in her eyes. Wrapping her little arms around me, she cried into my shirt and I just sat there consoling her. It broke my heart to see her cry. There was a knock at the door. I told Onna to sit there while I opened the door and I would be right back. Standing on the other side of the door was Ryan. I told him to come in and instantly Onna ran into his arms.
"Daddy, is Mimi okay?'
Ryan bent down scooping Onna into his arms, hugging her.
"Yes baby Mimi is fine. She just had a bit of a scare and I am sorry I had to leave you behind. Everything is okay babygirl."
I watched as Onna clung to Ryan and began to cry a little more. As he sooth her cries, I could help but watch and wish that I could have someone like Ryan to help raise my child. Johan could never be this gentle, he just doesn't have it in him. Ryan walked over to me giving me a hug and thanking me for looking after Onna. I felt honored that he trusted me with her. Waving bye to both Onna and Ryan, I went and took a seat on the couch as I started to look for jobs that would be suitable for my current situation, plus I had to find a new OBGYN that would allow me to pay out of pocket for all of my appointments and things. I found a few places I would like to apply to. I also wanted to set up a few housing appointments for smaller cabins. I didn't want to blow through my money too fast, so something small would work for now. Looking myself over in the mirror, I figured the two-piece suit with babydoll shoes would be a good fit to go file out applications so they knew I meant business. Walking down and past the front desk, I was stopped by Ryan.
"Hey Arya, come here for a sec."
Turning around, I walked over to the desk.
"Hey Ryan, what's up?"
"Your all dressed up. Where are you headed off to?
"Just doing some job searching and house searching. You know, trying to find my own way to get ready for this baby."
"Oh, okay. What type of work are you looking for? You know we are hiring here and if you work for us you can get a great discount on your room until you find somewhere."
"Seriously, I don't know the first thing about working at a hotel."
"That's why I would personally train you."
" You're really serious about this. If your serious, I'll be willing to give it a try and I could defiantly use the discount to save. You know new baby and everything. Maybe I'll hold off on a place and add a few paychecks to my savings."
"Well, I am serious. So when would you like to take care of the paperwork?"
"How about tomorrow morning?"
"Perfect. I guess you can go get out of those nice clothes and find something else to do today."
"I guess your right."
Turning around, I had a huge smile on my face as I headed back upstairs to change into something different. The rest of the day was spent snacking and catching up on TV shows before drifting off to an early sleep. First thing the next morning, I headed downstairs to look for Ryan so we could get started on the hiring process.
"Good morning Arya."
Good morning Ryan, I guess we should get started, huh?"
"Yes. We should follow me to the back."
I followed Ryan to the back office where he told me to take a seat. I looked around the office until a board of pictures caught my eyes. Looking at it, I saw pictures of Onna and who I guess are his grandparents. There were a lot of pictures of Onna which were expected, but then there was a picture of a younger Ryan and I think a couple who were his parents. His mother was absolutely beautiful. Ryan began to talk to me about the job details. I agreed that I would do both part-time bartending along with the front desk until I wasn't able to anymore. I would start training with him tomorrow night for bartending and start at the desk this weekend. When it was time to talk about pay, I was so thankful when he said that I would be paid weekly and in cash. He didn't get into to many details why, but I was thankful, so I didn't question it. Once I finished up my onboarding, I headed out to have a nice early dinner before returning to the hotel. Onna had been with Ryan's grandparents the last two days, so upon entering the hotel, I was rushed with a cute hug from her. I bent down to give her a hug and Ryan told Onna to be careful running up to me. I gave him a smile and waved him off, asking her how was her stay with her Mimi and Papa. Onna took my hand and we walked around as she told me all about her fun at her great-grandparents' house. Somehow we ended up going out side for a walk before heading back in where I said bye, heading up stairs to lay down.
