It's been 2 weeks since the sad event happened with Hillary’s mom.
She took enough time to recoup emotionally, physically, and mentally.
It's Monday morning, and she resumes work again.
Flaunting a yellow maxi dress, and turquoise bag and walking into the office.
As the sliding glass door opened, there was Mr Donald at the front desk talking to Lauren, the Secretary.
“Good morning Mr Donald” he looked back with a glow of happiness on his face.
“Welcome back Hillary there you are, how are you?”
Suddenly the other staff joined in,
“We heard what happened, I hope you are feeling a lot better now.”
The love, care, and support were unlike what she had experienced at any place, it certainly felt like home.
She quickly brushed off her hair which was covering the right side of her face to respond.
“There has been turbulence but I am trying to be fine now. If not for anything, the support I have received from this office has made it easy to heal.”
“Awwww,” said Lauren as she walked forward with her arms open offering a hug.
Others joined in as well.
Group hug has never felt so wholesome and therapeutic. She felt seen and loved.
“Come follow me, let's head to the briefing room,” said Donald.
She followed.
“We are going to brush you up on the remaining training so you can resume as soon as possible this week.”
“Hope no urgency?” Hillary asked.
“The Branch Manager will be attending the monthly board meeting at the Head Office where our books will be evaluated and reviewed."
‘‘He specifically asked to prepare you for the task ahead within a short frame of time. The board meeting involves all the big figures including the company Founder and CEO, Mr Culligan.”
She interjected, “Oh really!”
“It sounds scary now, are you sure I will be prepared for such a huge event in a short time? She asked.
Hillary had to ask because she didn't want to ruin anything that day. To be overwhelmed and disappointed.
However, she is not only worried about messing up; she is more worried about those top-ranking people in the company.
In movies and books, big company executives tend to be rude, dismissive, and intolerant.
This didn't help her imposter syndrome.
“It's alright, don't think too much about it. It's better to overcome that challenge now since you will be working with the Branch Manager and expected to always be at the board meetings with him.”
Exhaled a big sigh and braced herself to begin the briefing session.
Shortly Mr McGregor walked in.
Attractive as always in his white buttoned Italian shirt and firm cashmere trousers. His pelvic girdle looks bulky, it must be hard hiding that plantain third leg from the surface. I can remember that night all over again even though I am mourning.
“Hey Hillary, there you are. I hope you are a lot better now?”
She nervously stood up.
Since the night at the club, we have not talked much. The incident with Mom distorted communication and time. He acts formally in the office like he has never met me before.
Seeing him work here has made things a bit awkward too.
“Good morning Mr McGregor, I am feeling a lot better today.”
“Good! We are glad to have you back with us. Buckle up as we will be traveling to New York for the board meeting during the week. I believe Mr Donald would have briefed you.”
“Yes sir,” she replied.
He proceeded to speak to Donald about some employee files that needed to be updated, compiled, and sent to him ahead of the meeting.
“Hillary, I would like to see you in my office after lunch.”
He chimed out of the room right after.
I knew something was up. Perhaps he wants to talk to me finally, far from the eyes of the office people who have no idea of our history.
It's time for a break as Hillary was already famished.
The moment she came out of the briefing room, Lauren was seated inputting data into the computer on the desk.
She is already feeling comfortable with her after the hug earlier.
“Busy time? Need any additional help with anything? She asked while trying to sit across.
“Oh not much work at all, just trying to prepare meeting notes and activities for the week” Lauren replied.
“Ok great.”
Hillary proceeded to inquire about her time working in the company.
“Do you like working here? What do you think generally?”
“It can be exhausting but honestly out of all places I have worked, they have a better work environment here plus the pay is really good so I can not complain.”
Lauren chuckles while taking her eyeglasses off to clean for better vision.
Her response helped reduce the imposter syndrome Hillary was feeling.
While swinging around the chair, she saw a framed picture of a man in his 60s, well-shaved and hung on the wall.
Out of curiosity, pointing to the wall, Hillary asks “Who is this man hunged on the wall.”
“That is Mr Culligan Hunter, our CEO. The father of Mr McGregor,” Lauren replied.
“Huh, What! Are you serious? McGregor’s father?”
Hillary said with her eyes deep into the picture.
She couldn't close her mouth after unearthing this information. No one ever told her, not even Donald nor McGregor.
“A serious and flirty man. He never sticks to one woman, I heard he divorced McGregor’s mom when he was in Kindergarten and took custody. All he cares about are profits and getting into the pants of his Secretaries and Assistants.” Lauren added.
“Hmmm that's terrible,” Hillary puffed in a low tone.
“Yes, he has slept with more than half of them. He is a Billionaire, I am sure he promised them money or something valuable. That's the reason the position was vacant before you came in.”
“And McGregor is aware,” I asked.
“Yes, he does but not in support. Hence why he always sacks them after finding out. He and his dad never agree on that, the argument gets heated too.”
Lauren dropped her paperwork, and stood up “Want to grab something to eat?”
“Yes, I was heading that way before I decided to stop by,” Hillary replied.
Together they went in but in her head, could not fathom what Lauren had just told her. The need to discuss with McGregor couldn't have come at a better time.
Observing how quiet Hillary has been since they came to the canteen.
“You have been quiet, is the food not nice” Lauren asks.
“It's not the food at all, I was just thinking of something,”
She quickly deviated so as not to share the truth of where her thoughts had been.
They finished their meal and headed back to their position.
Confused and flaggerbasted, Hillary decided to see McGregor in his office since he requested earlier.
She knocks!
“Yes come in,” His resounding voice echoed.
She opens and walks in.
The moment he saw her, he rushed to extend a kiss.
“No McGregor, certainly not here,” Hillary said pushing him aside slightly.
“What happened, you are cold to me,” he seems surprised.
“Well, I think I should be saying that,” she replies.
“You act indifferent in the office. Since I lost my mother, you only called once. Am I supposed to be warm with you?”
“Hillary I am sorry, I particularly wanted to come see you the day I called. But you rejected and cut the call. What was I supposed to do? I try to be understanding realizing the circumstances. You had lost your mom and I did not want to be pushy about it. Is it wrong I let you be that period? I mean you needed the space and time to mourn.”
“I know, I know. I guess I was just expecting your call or even text to feel like you were thinking of me. Maybe I was emotionally selfish, I assumed you had forgotten about me and moved on to your other ladies which I expected.” Hillary responded with an attitude.
“Not, I could not let you drift away from my mind. I was just respecting your wish and space, hoping you would call once you needed to talk. Not all men are interested in having numerous women on their speed dial Hillary.”
He walks forward leaning to kiss her again. This time she obliged as he extended more kisses on her neck. Melting the feisty manner she came in with.
“I have missed you so much, I could no longer hold it,” he whispered sexually to her ears.
“I missed you too Mr McGregor, the past weeks have just been the worst for me and my family.”
“McGregor, call me McGregor when we are together alone.” He insisted.
“I know you are busy with your briefing, I just wanted to be with you again hence why I requested to see you without raising any curiosity amongst the staff. We need to keep our affairs discrete for the main time. I hope you understand Hillary.”
Affair? Maybe I am overthinking things.
“Yes, I do. I know it's unprofessional having an affair in the office. But McGregor is a s*x affair? Because that's all we have shared so far. I do not know anything more about you apart from being my boss” she queried.
“Well that's the process we are in, I am interested in getting to know a lot more about you. Perhaps we can go on a date sometime this week outside work?
“Hmmm,” she smiled.
Seeing her smile was wholesome. It's the first time she has smiled genuinely in the last 2 weeks.
“Maybe after we are back from New York,” she suggested.
“Perfect, that will be great. I will be looking forward to that, Tequila girl.” He teased.
Adding, “I am glad you work here, I was so surprised to see you the first day. But thinking of it now, it is nature's way of bringing you closer to me.”
She smiles.
“Just maybe. You never know right.”
She makes a move to turn around,
McGregor spanks her butt from behind as it jiggles ferociously from the force.
“Be careful now vintage boy. I have to return to briefing before your plantain gets hard,” she chuckles lustfully.
You could tell she liked it, she enjoyed being touched and aroused by him.
She walks further away shutting the door behind her gently as the sight of goosebumps begins to pour out.
The chemistry is undeniable.
