Celeste
The world is black for a time until I suddenly come to, my senses still compromised by the taser. I have heard that being tased is one of the most disarming things a person can experience and to be honest this is the most disarmed I have ever felt in my life—my senses are muddled, my limbs are numb with that tingly static one feels when a body part has lost circulation and fallen asleep, and I am having a hard time catching my breath. I wonder if this is similar to how Matthew felt after he shifted back into human form; my mind is animated but the rest of me is paralyzed.
When my vision comes into focus I see Matthew coming towards me, still in wolf form, about to nudge me until he notices that I am awake. My ears are ringing as I struggle, but succeed, to sit up, sensation slow
