Melissa had learned at a young age that she had the tendency to drive people away. It wasn't anything she'd do or say, but over time, people would tire of her. It was one of her fears with Marcus and it stopped her from making a lot of friends. So when Mr. Eduardo had told her of his elaborate scheme at charity, placing her under his roof for her protection, she flared up, wanting to shut him up for good for suggesting that she earns her right to live.
