CHAPTER SEVEN. "You ain't never seen a beauty like this, have you, love?" Melissa struggled to pry her eyes from the riot of colours coming from the wide beaded curtains. The corridor she stood in was pristine, the wall facing the door made of transparent glass and the tiles on the floor of opaque glass. Huge paintings hung on the wall connecting to the front door and stretched deeper till it rounded a bend down the corridor. She looked back at the beaded curtain, wondering if she should go in. More like diamonds. If she stared long enough, she might find that they aren't really knock offs but the real deal. She felt a hand wrap around her waist and she jumped, turning to stare at her assailant. The man whose arm was connected to her was in his mind forties, handsome in a strange way
