Chapter 25
“Maybe she should check back tomorrow”, the doctor said to Nkechi placing the blindfold back in his drawer. She had returned from wherever she had gone off to.
“Can’t this go any faster? We need to be certain her memory wasn’t altered by anyone. I cannot emphasize enough how important this is”, Nkechi said.
“I am sorry ma, but we cannot rush this. It would be hard for her to confront her nightmare since she knows what would happen to her and she hasn’t the power to stop it”, he said looking at Destiny as she slowly rose up from her seat.
“Can you or can you not do what I want you to do doctor?” Nkechi asked sternly. Destiny felt sorry for the man. He had been very kind to her and gentle. She believed she was safer with him.
“I can”, he said.
