CHAPTER NINETEEN Jack watched the scene he helped to create play out below him. He smiled as Maggie turned in his direction after the shot sailed past her ear. He knew the meaning wasn’t lost on her and hoped she appreciated the irony. He knew he should be getting out of there before anyone else figured out where the shot came from, but he had to be sure Maggie was safe. As the car left the curb with Maggie, he gathered up anything that might be considered evidence and headed down to the street. Jack headed south, he thought he would catch a train, he wasn’t sure where he would go. He had Maggie in his sights for a brief moment and he was glad to see she appeared to be well. The question was, where had she gone? He knew from the files Keeley had provided she had an apartment in Riverside
