“Yeah, okay.” Maggie agreed. She needed some time to let the events of the past several days sink in. She needed to deal with the loss of Chaps, she needed to process the new information about her life. And now after all the wondering and second-guessing Jack was back in her life and she needed to figure out how to deal with this new development.
Alex stood with Tom while he waited outside in the parking lot for whatever transportation Hugo had arranged.
“Listen Tom, I know I didn’t say things the right way earlier but let me just say I wish you weren’t leaving.” Alex thought she might as well say it instead of wishing she had after he left.
